  1. How does Beckham's ability to hit lefties in Aybar's place make sense, when Beckham is a 2B? Perhaps from the 3B but even then, Freese has been playing much better as of late.
  2. Could be Green and others packaged rather than Howie, if this is a move before a move type move
  3. Would rather go with Matt LeBlanc...
  4. for us to win in the postseason, we need someone to have an atypical stretch of success in them. like when jeff weaver became a legend during that 06 cardinals run. someone like shoemaker or santiago (in addition to jered weaver) is going to have to step up big.
  5. Eh, we r in trouble. The 2011 cardinals model doesnt aplly cuz they had carpenter, who is an ace when healthy. You really think weaver can step up like that for the next 8 weeks?
  6. He needs to take a day off. A full day off, not even DHing. Today would be the perfect game to do so before we head to Oaktown. While he is out for today, a guy named Josh Hamilton can carry the load, which he was signed to do, and which he did pretty good yesterday.
  7. Even if the Rangers were willing to trade Darvish, we don't have the pieces. Same goes with Hamels if he cleared waivers. Any trade would start with Santiago and likely a solid position player, just to get the conversation rolling.
  8. I don't think there are any real options out there. We are pretty much screwed. Solid players in the NL would need to clear waivers like Colon or Kennedy, making it very difficult. Don't really see any worthy candidates in the AL. Really sucks that Skaggs went down as well. Depressing
  9. some other reasons: Pujols has stayed on the field, and while his numbers in the grand scheme aren't all that impressive, he has also provided leadership, defense and some timely hitting Ianetta is swinging a hot bat Some solid bench contributions at times throughout the year from Cowgill, Navarro, Cron, and Green. Still, this offense needs to be on point for us to succeed in the postseason, when other teams throw multiple aces at us and we counter with just 1.
  10. Darvish looks about done for the year. Beltre would be nice. The signing we should have made years ago.
  11. Trout, calhoun, skaggs, santiago, richards, shoemaker is a solid core going forward
  12. A more interesting question is... who takes control of the DH position? It would be nice if boesh can put up a slash line of .270/.330 at minimum, and boast some power
  13. He is a beast. Would like to see him get that obp above .350
  14. I mean, he needs a day off in the coming weeks as this 40 game set gets underway. He needs to maybe just sit back and watch a game. Hamilton should join him.
  15. Trout needs a day off. He looks freakin horrible.
  16. I havent watched many games over the last couple years as I have been living out of the country and just moved back. I was wondering if Weave offers tribute to his old roomate Nick Adenhart still before each game? That was one of the most poignant routines I have seen. I remember he pitched with a ferocious anger following Nicks tragic passing... Looking at Weave today, he looks deflated, bored with the labor of pitching, a far cry from the guy who cut down teams in tribute of his friend for a few years...
  17. Conger has a nice swing. you think he would be able to generate some good power. Yet he sucks.
  18. I like when he was on the Rangers and dropped that blog post saying that he isn't like most baseball players who watch college sports and drive a truck.
  19. Jepsen has "sucked" in a pen that, for the last few years, was filled with crappiness and instability around him. He has flourished in a more stacked, stable pen, surrounded by the likes of Smith and Street, LLP.
  20. I don't care about pitch counts that much. If he goes 6 IP 2 ER, then he is succeeding brilliantly.
  21. Our offense is struggling because we have only 1 elite hitter, surrounded by some average to above average guys. we can't lean on a core group of 3-4 hitters to consistently come through, with contributions from lesser hitters. we literally need 9 guys on the same page to have that blistering offense we showcased for several weeks.
