  1. Why is everyone getting injured in the last leg? We need to rest dudes if thats what it takes
  2. Rasmus will be instrumental for us as the backup in any bad situation that arises early in a game. his importance cannot be understated.
  3. Gonna be tough to win it all with this rotation. Hopefully CJ can be big-time; the team really needs it.
  4. I think it also depends on match ups. Santiago and Wilson have actually been solid against Oakland.
  5. One of the final remaining objectives for our Angels this year, is to ELIMINATE the A's from even getting into the playoffs. If they win the wild card game and we play them in the ALDS, it is not going to be an easy series at all. Their pitching staff is stalwart and Doolittle is back. It would be a shame to put them down and not completely eliminate them, only to see them rise back up against our team in the ALDS.
  6. Mathis isnt italian but he has to somehow fit into all of this, so does napoli
  7. one way to make life very hard on them is for this team to win multiple WS over the next few years, all the while Trout punishes the league. This is what needs to happen.
  8. I dont wanna see oakland either. Lester shark and gray is still capable of shutting any team down, and that stadium hasnt been friendly. Kc would be the most favorable. I think its just i would rather see seattle than detroit, the latter team which can actually hit.
  9. We used to think that the last weeks of the schedule didn't favor us. Now that we all but have the division wrapped up, I see these last games against the Ms and As as a good thing, a good test to keep the team sharp before the ALDS. Last thing we want is the team to lose their hunger before the playoffs, similar to how the Tigers basically went to sleep in the days waiting for the WS to start in 2012, while SF was being battle tested through 7 games against the Cards.
  10. Which decreases the chances of seeing king felix twice (or even 3 times) in the series. Still gotta deal with iwakuma...
  11. He shouldn't be on the postseason roster for the ALDS at least
  12. I agree that the path the world series this year may be easier, as each team has a certain flaw or bad event that occurred to them. Detroit has had Verlander declining and injury to Sanchez. Their offense is not as good as it once was Baltimore has a weaker rotation and just lost Davis Seattle has a crappy offense We lost Richards, but overall we should be the favorite to win the AL. However, I do think the actual WS will be difficult this year. I think the Nationals are a very complete team, and the Dodgers are scary with their 3 aces. I actually think that final series this year will be more difficult than past years.
  13. Can't believe we are relying on Hamilton and CJ, the two douches from Texas, to carry us in the playoffs. I wouldn't put anything on the shoulders of those two guys. I'd bat Hamilton probably 5th after Howie, even though Cowgill is a spark plug. CJ is the fourth starter at best, and likely only pitches in the ALCS if we get there.
  14. One of the important remaining goals for this regular season, IMO, is for Oakland to be eliminated from the playoff race. It would be incredibly disappointing for them to survive, only to get hot and see the Angels in the first round, with that staff of theirs. While Seattle is scary, they are still Seattle, with their weak offense and lack of big game experience. We have a decent history against King Felix and are due to against Iwakuma. And we have our own Iwakuma (Shoemaker).
  15. Leave it to "vinnie" to seek retribution for trout. And also, wtf man scioscia needs to get guys out early if we take big leads. I want all our guys healthy when we kick seattles butt in the alds
  16. I'd really rather not see Detroit in the first round, regardless of our recent success against them. I'd honestly hope to see Seattle or KC. Seattle's pitching is scary, but they'll need to burn one of those pitchers in the WC game. I think our pitching can hold their offense down as well.
  17. Yeah I agree. Hammy needs to come back. Numbers don't tell the whole story. I think after seeing what happened to Oakland after the Cespedes trade (a guy with somewhat deceivingly good numbers), I've started to buy in to the need to have some hitters just for their "presence" in the line-up, even if the numbers don't exactly show them to be hitting that well...
  18. I have this horrible fear they may bomb out in the ALDS. We really need them to at least do 6 IP 3 ER, hopefully better as they have shown over the last several weeks!
  19. Mop-up is underrated though. Lackey started out as mop-up and then became the go-to in 2002. And as you indicate, having Wilson start just sounds horrible. I can't believe our playoff fates will have so much to do with how that guy pitches!
  20. Worried about this. It will be tough to win in the playoffs with GRich, Skaggs and Hamilton. While Hamilton has been inconsistent at best, he's still a great player and greatness shines when it counts most. (Still remember that 2-R Homer in game 6 of the 2011 WS in extra innings...that woulda won it) I hope they can help him heal up before the start of the playoffs.
