  1. I don't know how the dodgers can be beat in a 7 game series with that staff, and kershaw likely pitching 3 games. unless they have an offensive implosion, they are going to run through teams. The Orioles, no matter what you want to say about lack of names or pitching depth, keeps getting it done.
  2. So our team has sucked horribly the last week and is trending downward with skaggs out and wilson wilting like a lil biznatch. But can one clearly say there is a best team out there? The As havent hit nearly as well since Cespedes left. The tigers' lost sanchez and verlander is now injured and was sucking anyway. Anyone really feeling the nats braves or anyone in the NL central? They all seem like pretenders. I actually gotta go with the Dodgers and Orioles. The dodgers pitching is lights out. Sorry, but kershaw ryu and grienke is just unfair. The Os play hard. machado went down and his teammates just punished the yanks. They just play tough. They dont seem to slip up like our offrnse has been..
  3. Navarro has sucked recently. I want green up as DH when he gets back
  4. Rasmus needs to be converted to starter
  5. I am worried that Trout is basically hitting with a mirage of protection. Pujols has been solid but Hamilton looks horrible. Dude is on pace for like 10 homers. We aren't getting good production from the DH spot. I'd prefer Green over Cron or Navarro when he gets back. We should be getting a consolidated .250-.300 BA/.330 OBP minimum/15 HR from that spot.
  6. sorry to say, but the dodgers are a better team than the angels. they will be tough to beat with that pitching.
  7. Haha. I was being facetious btw. I am very confident about this team, though CJ's crappiness and Skaggs' injury are concerning. I do think it would be very tough to beat Kershaw if he's thrown at us (or any team) 2-3 times in a series. I think breaking Grienke would be easier. We could shut down their offense too.
  8. theres no way we could beat the dodgers in the WS with kershaw and grienke pitching. its pretty much over
  9. This is the one thing that would be amazing. But I still actually have doubts that that's going to happen. Would be great if it started on the first day of the playoffs!
  10. We don't have a time tested ace Our 3 and 4 hitters aren't that good Our road record isn't that awesome Skaggs is on the DL, Santiago can't win Howie can't hit for power anymore Somehow...this team just keeps winning. The offense just grinds people down. I remember when the Blowsox hitters just ground our pitchers up over the years. I remember Escobar sweating bullets in Fenway. I long wished for an offense like that. While 09 was incredible, this offense is just relentless. The bullpen is just nuts. Intimidating. I remember when the A's manager back in 02 said something like "If your not up after 5 innings against them, its going to be very hard to win". I'm starting to get that feeling again. Finally, I feel like this team is a bully. In 09, while our team was great, we had softies like Fuentes. Mathis couldn't hit. Weak links in the chain. Weaver was not quite in ace form yet. This team has some gamers like Shoemaker, Santiago (coming around), Jepsen, Street was incredible today. Really enjoying this.
  11. I am really scared, I don't think we can beat these other teams now. Price ? Lester? Bud Norris? Man we are in trouble!
  12. Right now that looks like the angels that will break. The pitching just doesnt inspire trust. The offense is good but its still "anchored" by a shadowy pujols and hamilton. Road record isnt great
  13. Shoemaker is solid. But I get the feeling he is sort of treated as the spot starter. It woudl be tough to turn to him all of a sudden with the game 3 ball if that scenario actually comes about.
  14. We basically don't have anyone to start Game 3 of the ALDS. I shudder thinking that we would need to rely on Skaggs or Santiago in that scenario. CJ needs to wake up.
  15. They wont. Starting pitching isnt as good as the As or Ms
  16. we need to beat them often. thats the only way. we cant even beat seattle though.
  17. I'm just reiterating how Bhuerle has explained his longevity in this article, which is actually a great read on his mindset as well: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/10975569/toronto-blue-jays-pitcher-mark-buehrle-key-success-moderation-espn-magazine As for Arroyo, he has accumulated a ton of years on that arm, unlike most of these new guys, who are just going way too hard to start out and flaming out.
  18. Go on the mark bhuerle program. Rest in the offseason. Dont work out 24/7.
  19. Trout will become like Lebron in his early days on Cleveland, man on island
  20. We need to live or die with what we have.
