  1. Not a good post Doc, but a great post. In my years as an Angel fan ((now 46 years worth) never have I seen a clear path to continuance of a really good competitive team. No more chasing the Boras FAs and losing draft picks, but instead adopting a St. Louis Cardinal type business model. In the past our long term strategy was in the hutch behind the gravy boat next to the collectible investment in the U.S. State quarters. Now it is youth and the stockpiling of pieces for the future. I attribute this awakening to Dipoto and to be sure, the emergence of Mike Trout, GR and Shoemaker. Long live the Angels as a competitive team. Kudos to the FO and more modern thinking!
  2. Speaking of "Ike" - wonder how he likes the A's now.
  3. Bye bye, Jeppy. He had a good year in 2014.
  4. I was bummed that Teixiera didn't re-sign. In retrospect, it's good he didn't.
  5. He was a great double play combo with Aybar.
  6. Elaina, thank you for your post. I'm sure the holiday season will be difficult for your family because of the loss of your dad. We all hope your kids have a nice Christmas! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
  7. Yep, if idiots grew on trees, we'd have an orchard here.
  8. Love the direction Dipoto is taking with this team!
  9. I'd feel just awful if some team came by and snatched our Texas stiffs and their contracts. I would be available to take them to the airport at a moment's notice, however.
  10. Not a big surprise inasmuch as how much MLB teams value SP, notwithstanding having to deal with Boras. However, I wonder how the players now value Boras as a result of the position he took with Morales and Drew costing each of them millions last year.
  11. Good stuff, Doc. I really like his baseball analysis and he's fun in person, too. P.S. I got a hole in one at Miniature Golf, too.
  12. How much left in his tank? 3 years is suspect.
  13. Great guy, tireless worker, great entertainer. No wait, that is Henry Mancini. Sorry Who is Nick Mancini?
  14. Scioscia loves what he is doing. So, as long there is no health issue, I cannot see why he would opt out.
  15. I'm guessing that Hammy didn't crack the Top 25.
  16. Tank, when you have lunch with Mike tomorrow, congratulate him from AngelsWin. Unanimous winner is impressive. Now then, after the slaps and grins, ask him about Howie and Scherzer. When the subject of Ichiro comes up, feel free to say "WTF?" This site has to know!
  17. How about a "Raisin Roundie" Bake Sale?"
  18. Mike contacted me a while back and asked for my address. I didn't know why. He sent me some of his baseball cards and never a hint about his battle - that was Mike - no sympathy. He just added a nice note about being a fan and he thought I might enjoy them. I loved that guy. Sorely missed.
