  1. Prediction: CJ will come into camp in the best shape ever.
  2. The Angels GM, Billy Eppler, a long time believer in cryogenics announced today that the Angels are thawing out Ted Williams to play left field in 2016. "Ted's head was not the only thing frozen," said Eppler. "His swing, stance and athletic prowess were frozen and now it's just a matter of thawing out." Eppler said he has been working on this for a while and finally agreed with the Williams' family on a one year agreement. "Ted could fall out of his frozen crypt and still hit .300" said Eppler. The thawing out period will be to tighten up Ted's defense, which could be expected to be a little rusty. Angels fans have been ecstatic over the news, because Ted can assist Albert in retirement planning, but still be a productive MOTO slugger.
  3. For a price, Adam will sell Jim Abbott's right hand.
  4. But the Nats, would need to us cash as well.
  5. I, too was at the game. Watching the mounted police on horseback lining the left and right field lines and then the shot. I knew after the game, there was no reason for the team to fly back to Boston. Total change of Mo'.
  6. My take on Arte is this: He admitted to us one spring that he was sitting around drinking beer with his buddies and they decided they should buy a minor league team. They did, Arte got involved in the baseball affairs and learned (his words) that he was lousy at it. But he absolutely loved being an owner. I think he is a competitive guy and saw what Steinbrenner and Loria did buying players and buying championships and he thought he could play with the big boys. So he told his GMs to go spend the money. That didn't work out with GMJ, Wells, Hamilton,Wilson and Puljos. He absolutely must reflect on those decisions. I believe his new GM has advised him to take a different approach, which is to finally get out of those contracts and build the team in a different manner.
  7. Of all the guys I haven't met or know, Nor Cal was one of them.
  8. I think it is a combo of Wells, Mathews, Hamilton and Puljos and CJ Wilson.
  9. But, but....we have eight starting pitchers.
  10. He forgot the Chuck E. Cheese menu.
  11. What was Scioscia's involvement/decision/action that led to: Weaver's injury Shoemaker's disappointing season CJ Wilson's injury Signing Joyce Trading Howie Freese's injury GR's so-so season The Middle Relief bomb squad
  12. The Angels have a poor or so-so April. May shows a slight improvement. June to the All Star Game the team gets red hot. So the question is, will the team have its usual after ASB swoon?
  13. If you believe the news, there is more than Scioscia bothering Dipoto - there are other coaches and maybe players as well. JD may demand for a clean sweep of the manager and coaches, which will not happen.
  14. Do I need to repeat my earlier post? About rebuilding the farm system et al?
  15. Lou is 100% spot on. You guys are delusional.
  16. Apparently, some here think the re-building of a farm system can be done with a sack of magic beans. The long term health of the organization was largely agreed to by people with a brain. Given the salary constraints of some questionable LT signings have been overlooked. In short, it will take time for the pigs to get through the python. Next year will be a monumental year to reconstruct the major league team with so many contracts expiring. Just sit on your nests, ladies. Next year will be a year for you to make your call.
  17. Any knuckleball pitcher or someone with a decent change can eat up the Angels hitters. Jamie Moyer should have sent a thank you note to the Angels for the success he had over the years. And he made Weaver look like Nolan Ryan.
  18. For those of you not watching, after Kubitska's stupid defensive mistake, he got his 1st major league base hit. He's on 1st and Ayabar hits on in the hole. Kubitska raced to 2nd and is thining about 3rd and gets about half-way when he trips or falls down. Meanwhile, Aybar is on 2nd base. Kubitska was frozen in no-man's land. Embarrassing.
  19. Way too early to panic. This is a five game losing streak. Better times will come. Relax, gents.
  20. I was there and watched it in black & white. Technicolor had't been invented yet.
  21. JOYCESTICK was also considered until April's stats.
  22. It came down to A-Hitter-Imannotta behind home plate, but Claude couldn't find enough fans to hold up that many letters.
