Angels got a reaction from Butcher'd in Who stays and who goes next year?
Yeah, right. Dipoto is too statistically savvy to be wanting something like that.
Dipoto has no authority to tell and/or force Scioscia who to play. The manager makes that call. Unless Scioscia is a puppet he is not taking orders from anyone regarding things like that. Playing Hamilton and Wilson was strictly his call.

Angels got a reaction from SoCALkid in Fire Scioscia?
But Scioscia is the one who decides who plays and who doesn't. If Hamilton fails, so does Scioscia. If Wilson fails, so does Scioscia. And I don't know how any sensible person could've thought that playing either player was a good idea. And he failed to make ANY adjustments whatsoever.
All those bunts (3-1 count on Calhoun, bunting twice with Hamilton due up, etc) are on Scioscia too.
It didn't help matters that the offense decided not to hit... But Scioscia was a problem, and a big one.

Angels got a reaction from joeywings in Who is most to blame?
Mike Scioscia gets the blame for his awful in-game decision making AND for playing Hamilton and Wilson. And for failing to make any adjustments.
The offense gets the blame for collectively sucking.
Both Scioscia and the offense are to blame and both made winning in the postseason extremely difficult

Angels got a reaction from Adios in ALDS Gameday Thread - Angels @ Royals - Game 3
Not really. Anything can happen in a short series, that's correct.. But things like Wilson sucking was not random chance. It was a continuation of something that has been happening for a long time. Ditto for Hamilton looking lost and confused and awful. And so forth

Shields isn't even pitching good. The Angels can't do anything

A 4.5 ERA = quality? Especially in today's game? Hah

If that's a quality start then there are no bad pitchers.

Angels got a reaction from SoCALkid in NLDS STL @ LAD #2
At least the Dogs can get the big hit, unlike the Angels

Angels got a reaction from joeywings in Hamilton starting tomorrow
It's about putting the Angels in the best possible position to win. Do you think that playing Hamilton does that? Especially given the circumstances and information at hand?

Angels got a reaction from Biergott in Dump Hamilton Now.
Hamilton hasn't played well since April. His approach at the plate has been awful all year. He missed the last month + of the regular season. And there are clearly some deeper issues at play here.
He shouldn't have been playing, period. He was set up to fail. And that's on Scioscia.

Angels got a reaction from Angel Oracle in **** this
It's possible to blame both. Since both sucked.

Angels got a reaction from HeavenlyHalos in Scioscia's managing tonight
Wilson's ERA:
June: 5.97 (1.61 WHIP)
July: 10.13 (2.38 WHIP)
August: 4.94 (1.77 WHIP)
September: 4.76 (1.55 WHIP)
Keep far away from rotation. Far, far away.

Angels got a reaction from ABC in Scioscia's managing tonight
Turd. 3-1 count. Great hitters count. And even had he got the bunt down properly they would've walked Trout intentionally.
F off Mike
