    You are most definitely correct Lou, but I think it hurts even more this year seeing some young, cheap players dominating (Segura, Corbin and Harvey), while our highly paid superstars flop. This season, more than any I can remember, is highlighting some decisions that are coming back to haunt this organization.

    I never imagined a train wreck to this degree. This team is on pace to be one of the worst in franchise history. One of the very worst. This team could be worse than some of the 90s teams. And when you think they can't hit any new lows, they do. Did any of you see this coming? I know some of you weren't as homerish as others, but did anyone believe this team wouldn't win at least 85 games?

    Did any of you doubt that kohn would walk that last hitter he faced? It was obvious to me, and I am not the smartest guy. How could scioscia not have known that was going to happen?

    We need Richards and Williams in the rotation now. When weaver comes back, Williams should stay in the rotation and Blanton should go to the pen (or inland empire).

    We need guys to get healthy. I have to believe Pujols's foot injury is to blame for his unspectacular play, and Weaver, Bourjos and Burnett have been big losses.

    Hamilton sucks. By the end of this year, if not sooner, his contract will be one of the biggest albatrosses in pro sports.

    And I have to believe Segura could have played the super utility role being suggested, or maybe converted to third base or right field.

    I don't think a trade can be judged entirely at the time it is made. You do have to look a few years down the line. In the case of the greinke trade, it could go down as a colossal mistake, and dipoto probably deserves criticism for it.

    What is the deal with Calhoun, for how much longer is he going to be unavailable. He is blowing a huge opportunity by being injured.

    This is the most bothersome part: the complete refusal to entertain the belief that they could be wrong and take a few minutes to confer with each other, consult the rule book, and get the decision right.

    Lots of players have performed to their big contracts: A-Rod (to his first contract); Jeter (10/189); Manny Ramirez (8/160); Hunter (5/90); Miguel Cabrera; randy Johnson (his 4/52 was a large contract when signed); Pujols (to his first contract); and plenty of others.

    You make a great point. I am no longer losing sleep over the losses - I can watch the games without any expectation.

    I would be curious to know how many teams have come from 11 under .500 to win a playoff slot. Maybe it happens once every 10-15 years?
