    I remember a game around '05 or '06 against (I think) the White Sox in Chicago. The game was tied, Vlad was on second and someone was trying to sac bunt to get him over. Vlad ending up running all the way home on the bunt, looked like he was gonna be out by a mile, but somehow ended up sliding in safely and we went on to win the game.

    ESPN desperately wants to see Trout play for one of the handful of teams they actually pay attention to. They'll create a media whirlwind to get a discussion going if they think it will help.

    Trading Trout would be the dumbest thing the franchise has ever done (that's saying something), and it's borderline grounds for changing your fandom to a different team.

    Did FS West mention this at all? Also, do the Angels ever acknowledge this? I don't see any posts/tweets about it. Other than Weaver putting his initials in the dirt and the "calling all angels" intro video, I'm not sure I've seen much mention of him.

    I thought Arrieta and Kershaw were both MVP-caliber players on playoff teams, but it seems the voters only want to vote for a pitcher in years where there are no standout position players. Obviously Harper was better than both of them, but it just seems like they used the exact opposite of the logic that's been hurting Trout these last four years.

    Making the playoffs is the only thing that matters to the voters... ...unless you play in the NL, then you can be on a team that implodes down the stretch and still win unanimously.

    He's the best (not greatest, best) baseball player of all time. Once his career is done he will be considered the GOAT. At the very least top 5.

    My theory: The BBWAA ruined him. He wanted to win the MVP so badly, and he knew they wouldn't vote for him just for being an all around great player. He had to become a traditional slugger.
