Dave Saltzer got a reaction from bloodbrother in [Rain Day Poll] What's Your Favorite Team Name?
I probably would have picked Anaheim Angels over California Angels if it weren't for the periwinkle unis and that horrid logo. It always looked like the wing was raping the letter A on it. And I intentionally never got a periwinkle jersey. Those things were fugly. On the bright side, being the Anaheim Angels always had us listed first on websites and things.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from ettin in Alden Gonzalez: Angels take JC righty Morris in fourth round
TJ surgery has become more common, more refined, and less risky, so teams are willing to gamble more on the upside for a pitcher recovering from it. Many who have had it at a young age have recovered all of their velo. So, it's a chance to pick someone with better upside when you have lower picks.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Chuck in Sherman Johnson Tops This Week's AngelsWin.com Prospect Hotlist (June 2nd, 2013)
If you haven't driven out to see Mike Morin make fools out of opposing hitters on his changeup, you should. It may be the best one in the system.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Tank in Hats off to you veterans
When Time Magazine published their "person of the century" in 2000, there was only one obvious choice in my mind: The American serviceman. This country, this world, could not exist without your dedication, devotion, and sacrifice. G-d bless you and your families.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Vegas Halo Fan in Alden Gonzalez: Scioscia ejected in ninth inning of Halos' win
That was the most passionate and animated I've seen Scioscia all season. He needs to keep that up.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Afternoon Angel in "42" - AngelsWin.com's Historical Writer Rob Goldman Shares His Experience On The Making Of The Movie
Great article Ellen! This is a must see movie for everyone whether they are baseball fans or not. It does a great job portraying history without being overly preachy or heavy handed. I have to admit that I am a bit jealous of Rob because I would want to somehow be connected with a project like that.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Fontana Halo in IE 66ers Amazon Local deal; $26 for 4 + Parking
The park is very family friendly, with a bouncy house area and other stuff for kids as well. Great family entertainment at a good price. And oh yeah, Hangar 24 beer for the adults!

Sorry, missed your question. Not the best person to ask about Groupon, but if you bought it and still need to know, I will ask. Please let me know.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Spirit in Win an Autographed Copy of Trolley Dodgers, Pinstriped Yankees and Wearing Red Sox: How MLB Teams Got Their Names
Just gave the book to my son for his 7th birthday. He LOVED it. Read about his Little League team and about the Angels, then flipped through to read about all the teams he's played so far. It's fun hearing your son read about baseball!

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Chuck in The Latest from the AngelsWin.com Blog - AngelsWin.com's Spring Fanfest | A Weekend To Remember
Ellen,
I was about to write a summary of the weekend, but your article summarized it perfectly. For all of us there, it was an incredible weekend. We had almost as many people to the Tim Mead conversation early Sunday morning as we did to the dinner last year--about 120 by my count! Everyone in the Front Office and in the media that I talked to on Sunday was buzzing about the turnout and how impressed they were with it. Your article captured it perfectly.
Thanks!

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Second Base in MWAH Top 30 Prospects
I like Jimenez a lot, but, he is a very streaky hitter, which goes along with lack of plate discipline. He can carry a team for a week or so, then disappear for a while. If he can cut that bit down, he would be a Major Leaguer. I think he can have a future at a bench spot, but will need to expand his defensive skill set. He's a good insurance policy on Callaspo in the event something happens, but I still see Cowart as the future at 3B for the Angels.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Chuck in The Latest from the AngelsWin.com Blog - Eddie Guardado Talks Little League Baseball with AngelsWin.com
I always love seeing athletes still involved in the community and doing good. Eddie is truly a class act, and deserves to be recognized as such by baseball fans, regardless if he played for our team or not.

Dave Saltzer got a reaction from Chuck in The Latest from the AngelsWin.com Blog - Mark Langston Talks About the Opening Day of Little League
I'm glad that Langston will be joining the radio broadcast team full time. It would be nice if they would also bring in a hitter from time to time to give that perspective on the game.
