  1. The contract given to Cano is not a problem right now and likely won't be for a few more years. Same with Cruz. Felix is the worst contract currently, but maybe he'll bounce back.
  2. Not if we keep having pitching injuries and have to start AAAAAAAAA pitchers.
  3. He was. And roided to the gills. Hell of a bat flip though.
  4. Yes you only bashed the Seattle media for "coddling" its players ... as almost all local media does with its STARS, how DARE they coddle those superstars! Called Griffey a prick though I'm sure you're unbiased in saying that based off a stupid ESPN interview. Poking fun at a motto referring to how the fans should love their own players. And me saying Griffey was a great player is in reference to the thread ... as this thread title seems to imply that since Trout is better that Griffey was some slouch. I agreed Trout is better than Griffey at these respective points in their careers?
  5. That was the motto in 1996 ..... after the awesome 1995 run, before A-Rod became A-Roid who wasn't even a thing until 96 .... what is wrong with it??? And it's a slogan ... made up by a business / marketing department. Who cares?? http://www.cincinnati.com/story/blogs/2014/03/11/griffey-junior-linda-cohn-interview/6285841/ (Reasons that interview seemed shitty) And yes ... as of now Trout is better than Griffey .... but who knows what the future holds? Does not mean Griffey wasn't great in his own right.
  6. Injuries. Innings on the arm. Felix definitely isn't what he used to be but never really had any MAJOR injuries .... a lot more innings thrown than Lincecum though. Doesn't Tim have a degenerative hip? His pitching motion certainly does not help that.
  7. Its a safer bet at this point betting that he will never sniff the majors. His bat sucks that much.
  8. Their 3rd brother, Justin, is in the M's minor league system .... not anywhere near their level though.
  9. Holy shit. Just went to mlb.com to start the Mariners game and I see you're winning 20 to 1 ... wtf is going on in Boston lol.
  10. Well yeah I get that. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bryant put up 7.5-8 WAR at 3B for the foreseeable future. He looks like an elite player.
  11. They are two top tier players at quality positions? 2 high upside bats in the line-up is better than 1 tremendous bat imo. Lets go off 2014 numbers .... Pujols gave you 2 WAR ... Rizzo worth 5.5 so there is 3.5. Bryant was worth 6.5 WAR ... David Freese got you 2.2 ... so 4.3 WAR there. So the 2 of them would be 7.8 WAR more than what you got from those respective positions last season ... I'd assume if Trout was gone you could find a 1-2 WAR win player to fit in CF for the Angels ... which would make up the 9 WAR that Trout was worth in 2014. Bryant and Rizzo are cheaper than Trout combined. I said they ALMOST make up for Trout ... and then the OP added 4 more players on top of the trade that he'd turn down ... 4 more players with significant upside.
  12. This is the dumbest post I've ever read. Bryant and Rizzo alone almost make that worth it. Then you throw in 4 extra players and you'd say no?
  13. No not really. MLB has him listed as our 8th best prospect and I am sure Kyle Lewis is above him so that pushes him to 9. Joe Rizzo may also be above him. Don't understand why Boog used PEDs ... he is a rather small dude.
  14. I don't make up the statistics. I just look at them. And I said nothing about Felix being hurt. Of course him being hurt is bad. Miley is hurt. Walker is hurt. A replacement pitcher Sampson is hurt. Wade Leblanc starting tonight. That is what I meant by the starting rotation is in pieces. I'm not defending the Mariners. They have played like shit and been a bit unlucky.
  15. I can't really fault him either. He has been consistent in his line-ups and use of platoon splits (and he doesn't play Cruz much in the outfield). Tim Bogar is also his bench coach who has a pretty decent coaching resume. Only thing I am mad about is using Nori Aoki even though he has been literally worthless, but we have nothing in the farm .... and Boog Powell just got an 80 game suspension for ROIDS. Servais has even started using Dae Ho Lee more against RHP since Lind has been struggling. Starting rotation is a mess and woefully under performing now .... bullpen has been a mess since the beginning (Furbush, Scribner, Cook, been on the DL all season, Zych for a while). Cishek is the best we could do for a closer (Benoit is older and had spent some time on the DL) and he's been ok ... sure he's blown saves but he has only allowed a .254 OBP. Its the players faults. I don't know exact stats but the amount of failures I have seen with RISP is embarrassing. And the bullpen always coughs up runs when we fail to score the ONE we need. Look at the stats of most of our bullpen ... (Edwin Diaz, Vidal Nuno, Steve Cishek, Joaquin Benoit, Mike Montgomery, Nick Vincent) ... none of their stats are really BAD ... but we just have failed. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=rel&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=11&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Peralta is gone. Steve Johnson is gone. Guaipe is gone. Wilhelmsen mess is from the Rangers .... verdict still out.
  16. I said " Mariner success is not driven only by Cano, Cruz and Seager ". I said they weren't the only reason for success. A lot can change in time. Shit. Chris Iannetta has the 2nd highest WAR for catchers in the AL. It isn't Dipoto's fault we've been so abysmal in 1 run games recently.
  17. You can post whatever the hell you want, as you said it's your forum ... I just said I don't know WHY you bother talking about Dipoto and what he is doing with the Mariners ... but you're right, you can talk about him if you'd like. My bad.
