This is a thread that directly references Dipoto AND the Mariners. I don't know why you guys still talk about Dipoto or anything he is related to, he is no longer an employee of the Angels. He tried something in Anaheim and it didn't work out. Get over him ... both teams have problems. I'd don't go in your game threads and boast about winning or losing ... don't expect to make threads directly relating to the Mariners and not have the few Mariner fans who post here pop up. I'm not measuring dicks ... its baseball and it really doesnt matter beyond fandom in the grand scheme of things. We both suck ass currently. You may see yourself that way. I do not. And back talking about injuries. Pitcher (Adrian Sampson) was supposed to make his 2nd start for Wade Miley today, threw 2 warm-up pitches and was out of the game .... injuries blow.

You act just as butthurt when Rangers fans come in here. You won a World Series 14 years ago, that you may not have won if Dusty Baker wasn't retarded, since then you've really done nothing but choke in the playoffs. So yes you're right ... the Mariners are a shitty franchise, but don't act like you're the god damn Yankees or something.

Well with the way some of you guys talk about CJ Wilson on here ... I'm not sure many of you cared he is gone. But yeah everyone has their injuries. We started playing poorly when Leonys Martin and Ketel Marte initially hit the DL. Felix has been there for a while. Miley just joined him. Looks like Taijuan Walker is GOING to join them. We haven't had Furbush at all this year, or Evan Scribner, or Ryan Cook in the bullpen. Tony Zych has been out a while. But injuries can only be so much of an excuse. Texas has deal with a ton of injuries, but they pull people up like Profar, Mazara and Gallo from their farm and it really isn't a huge hit when you have such a good farm. I envy that ability.

Meh. Not going to argue on an Angels fan site. You think the Mariners suck. I think the Angels suck. Good luck with your team in the future and your farm system.

This has been a 24 game stretch where the Mariners have outscored their opponents by 7 runs. Pythag expectation had us winning 13 in this stretch but we only won 8. We have been 0-8 in 1 run games. Luck won't necessarily change, but I wouldn't expect us to be THIS bad the rest of the season. The sweep by the Twins was inexcusable and horrid. We were swept by Texas who is beating EVERYONE currently. We split a series with the Indians. Won a series against Baltimore. Lost a series to Boston ... but one was a 2-1 loss. And we got walked off 8-7 by the Tigers last night. Felix is hurt. Wade Miley is hurt. Taijuan Walker will hit the DL next (I am assuming). We are likely fucked. No one in this division will catch Texas now ... but our season isn't over as we're only 2.5 games out of a Wildcard spot nearing the Allstar break. Don't get me wrong ... I'm unhappy as hell about our performance lately, but you really shouldn't be gloating about our precipitous fall when you're still quite a bit below.

Ah fair enough. We tried that for many years ... hasn't panned out too wonderfully.

I know I should be as they are in 1st ... but I honestly think the Astros are a more complete team than either the Rangers or the Mariners .... they just had that horrendous start. They are the ones with a big series against Texas now ... shall see how they do.

I'd be worried about the sweep against Texas if it was September. Luckily its the beginning of June with much baseball left to be played. I'm just displeased about the sweep. Not giving up hope yet. Season ended today we'd be in the post season. How about the Angels? Honestly more worried about the Astros than the Rangers.

I'm not giving him all the credit in the world. I know he walked into Cano, Cruz, Seager and Felix. Any GM would LOVE to walk into that. But he did make some nice complimenting moves to flesh out the foundation of the team. I'm not proclaiming him as the best GM ever. He made some good moves which is a lot more than I can say about Jack Zduriencik. In no way is the book closed on Dipoto, but I like what I've gotten so far. Time will tell.

It's a thread .... about the Mariners .... It isn't like I'm saying this in your Gameday threads. I honestly do not care what Angel fans think of the Mariners .... as I am sure you do not care what I think about the Angels ... which is why I really don't say anything about the Angels. We're supposed to hate each other. It's fine. I'm 33. I don't have the will to fight on the internet anymore.

Iannetta wasn't mentioned because he's sucked ... yet still has better numbers than what we've gotten out of that position in previous years. Funny and quite sad. Felix has also sucked ... so I don't think he really contributes to this years record. Sparkling ERA aside his peripherals flat out are mediocre. If the Angels came back from a 10 run deficit against the Braves and tied for 1st place in the division in June, I can imagine people on this forum would also be going nuts.

Yes. Leonys Martin hasn't produced. Same with Dae Ho Lee. Same with Nate Karns. Same with Nick Vincent. Same with Steve Cishek. Joaquin Benoit was on the DL a bit but is back and will likely perform (K'ed the 3 batters he faced last night). Adam Lind SHOULD produce given his track record, but you are correct he really hasn't. Nori Aoki also hasn't lived up to his ability yet (and maybe won't). And Wade Miley has been poop. I agree. Mariner success is not driven only by Cano, Cruz and Seager .... but keep telling yourself Dipoto did nothing but trade Trumbo for nothing. He also ACQUIRED Leonys for nothing (Tom Wilhelmsen, James Jones and Patrick Kivlehan (who is back with the Mariners)). He acquired Nick Vincent for a PTBNL. Signed Dae-Ho Lee for Peanuts. This is an effort in futility though as I expect nothing from an Angels fan forum speaking on topic about the Mariners and their former GM.
