I went to one playoff game every series and this was the World Series game I went to. Looking back I'd rather be at this game than even game 7. During the 7th inning stretch I remember just standing nervously watching the Giant fans pre-celebrating. I couldn't blame them. Thoughts like "it was a good run "at least we beat the Yanks" "maybe we are one FA away from being back next year" and "I hate Bonds so much" were running through my head. A combination of the Giant's 5th run and Salmon striking out and ending our almost rally really deflated me. Even Spiezio's homerun looked like a pop-up from my crappy seats. When that went out I thought we had a shot. When Erstad crushed one I really believed it was destiny. Props to Appier for keeping us in it. Scioscia for brilliant managing (bullpen/Figgy/etc). Spiezio for the greatest at bat in Angel history. Glaus for the greatest double of all time. Percy for a drama free 9th. WHAT A YEAR!

I would add our team's strange fear of offering arbitration to walking players. Yes every now and then you might get stuck with a player but I think we have given up tons of draft picks.

I'd love Jimenez but his strong finish might lead to a good pay day.

Having Salmon, Guerrero, and Hunter in RF we got spoiled. It's not your fault our RF has sucked.

With Weaver and Vargas hurt Scioscia didn't really have any options. This is total conjecture on my part. I sense Dipoto gutted the rotation against strong resistance from Scioscia. Scioscia let Dipoto hang himself.

Not Sciocia's fault Halos were getting killed while running out Blanton/Hanson while Santana was dealing on the Royals.

How about looking at the last 2 months rather than one series?

I fail to see how any part of this clusterf##ck season is Scioscia's fault. Our GM put his identity and reputation on this team by gutting the pitching staff and replacing Hunter with Hamilton.
