  1. If can he hit .250, 30 hr, and actually take some walks it's not great but I would take it for the next couple of years
  2. Erstad's catch in NY is still my favorite. Game was over and he just flew. NY fans gave him s great ovation. Also loved that he came up and hit a bomb.
  3. I was just about to post something similar! I wonder why Mariners didn't move him and what kind of deal he will get this off season.
  4. Not taking anything away from Schuck. How does the umpire know if he caught it?
  5. If he could prove himself to be as good at 3rd as Cabrera this team would be much better (assuming Pujols and Hamilton are at least closer to their normal projections) Better question would be why not? I say go for it
  6. Except for Pujols, Hamilton, and Blanton (nobody would claim them) is there any angel that if a team claimed you would want to just hand over? I suspect our whole team might be put on waivers (most teams do as a strategy to sneak players through). Any player you would be happy with giving the Alex Rios treatment to? I think Aybar is a possibility. If we are rebuilding while being stuck with Pujols/Hamilton/Blanton/ and 20 mil for VWells lets just get rid of that contact and move on.
  7. Except for strangely not being a fan of Napoli who else can this be applied to? Conger clearly has lacking in catching fundamentals. I might wonder why our minor leagues was unable to fix him but Scioscia was handed Conger, he didn't corrupt him.
  8. Haha For the record I don't think Mathis was/is that type of defensive beast C. Jose Molina was.
  9. I liked Jose Molina and wished he started here for a good run. If our C is a beast behind the plate I don't care what he hits.
  10. Looked good, not great. Too many 2-0 counts imo. A's take a lot of pitches, many other teams would have squared up on 2-0 and not take a fastball. At times filthy off speed. A few little league curve balls mixed in. (Not exaggerating, one curve was almost a riser which was thrown towards the on deck circle) All that being said, anyone who would rather have Jerome, Hanson, or Blanton in there is crazy.
  11. Why didn't he just pull Downs like the Astros manager did earlier this year?
  12. Um....look at Santana's careers stats. He had some amazing years here. Williams has had some nice stretches but never for an entire year.
  13. Need him to come back and do well so we can trade him. This season is done.
  14. If Angels slow down Detroit would be crazy to not make a run for Ernesto
  15. Exactly. Every year we are giving raises to players who are getting worse. Every year we are older with less flexibility.
  16. I feel like you are not hearing me. I am not saying fire JD because he has not fixed this in 2 off seasons. I am saying fire JD because he has made us exponentially worse in two off seasons. Big difference. If we had the same record but using up and coming inexpensive players I would be excited right now. I am not excited knowing Hamilton/Pujols are going to continue to get massive raises while becoming more diminished as players.
  17. 1. He has had 2 off seasons and has made the franchise much much much worse. 2. If he pinned the bullpen hopes on adding Burnett and Madson while subtracting Walden he deserves massive heat. 3. Hamilton is basically doing what he did 2nd half last year. When the deal was made the overall media reported that Gm's were weary of Hamilton. 4. Wells trade should be a compliment to Cashman not JD. 5. He is the one who signed them so how can they be used to justify anything?
