  1. Can't say I am very happy about this.
  2. Fangraphs is a grade A site. Probably the best place for information and articles on baseball.
  3. I don't think the Angels will be in the playoffs again. One team short again, third team of the two wild cards.
  4. Four hitter is more important than the three hitter. The number four guy gets nore guys on base.
  5. Sciosca is probably a horrible talent evaluator, honestly. Given his line up card history though out the years.
  6. He actually hasn't talked about Maddon or any baseball strategy. He is bringing up the teams record without context or what Maddon could have done differently.
  7. This is honestly embarrassing. Rays won 11 of 12 games to close out the season.
  8. I have watched quite a few Angels game and he has done a lot of mismanaging. I can't name them on the top of my head, but I pointed them out in the game day chat while the Angels were playing. My post, although, just one situation, was to show he makes bad choices, and sometimes downright stupid.
  9. I know this may sound like a broken record, but he ****ing IBB Coco Crisp. That's hilariously stupid.
  10. You are wrong when you say Moneyball is awful and you are wrong when you say the books are usually better. It's just confirmation bias or people who like bad books defending bad books. Hunger Games was an awful book and the movie was a ton better.
  11. Rottentomatoes has moneyball as the highest rated baseball film. Therefore I agree with their rankings.
  12. He's made tactical errors. Sac bunts, poor bullpen use, intentionally walking Coco Crisp to face Chris Young.
  13. It was a pretty generic movie about adversity, honestly. The onion summed up my preconceptions and thoughts after the film: http://www.theonion.com/articles/new-jackie-robinson-movie-probably-has-scene-where,32042/
  14. They will probably be in the playoffs. And at that point, it's a crapshoot.
  15. Eh, they offered them different seats or free shirts and they took the free shirts. Not that big of a deal.
  16. You are right, top ten in offense is below average. I was confused and forgot there was only 19 team in baseball. Not sure, how you can say they didn't improve their offense and that they are below average, but you are wrong in either case.
  17. A's were tenth in wRC+ and improved their offense this off season. It's most definitely a top ten offense this year if not higher.
  18. Vernon Wells still sucks. He has been getting really lucky. 390 BAPIP or so to start this year.
  19. Yes, everyone did, and I thought everyone would know they were good because of their differential.
  20. I wanted to do it because I wanted to see if I would get a notification for it.
  21. I am sorry, but intentionally walking Crisp was really ****ing stupid.
  22. Uh, you can watch batting practice at any major league game. I saw Chris Davis = break a window last year in batting practice. Mark Trumbo has a really high BAPIP last year and regression was going to come. Correlating it to the home run derby is silly, especially since we have a large sample of players who play in the home run derby.
  23. I actually defended the Blanton signing, which I regret. Really hasn't changed at all from last year.
  24. No, but tons of players do. Swinging as hard as you can at 40 MPH pitches to go over the fence is not going to **** up your swing for a half a year. The notion is ridiculous.
  25. This is wrong and not true. If batting practice wasn't exactly like the HR derby and it was easy to predict decline after the derby than I'd believe this. But the vast majority of players are fine after the HR derby and the HR derby might as well as be a normal batting practice.
