  1. I saw this during the A's game last night. ****ing hysterical. Reminded me of the CJ Wilson out of context video.
  2. Lol I am pretty sure you are just trolling, but if not, you are wrong. But I think you know that and you just want to rile up Sneaky
  3. No because a 4 war player at free agency would likely cost 20 million dollars a year. 15 million a year is the perfect amount.
  4. You guys have to remember that Andrus is likely to continue to get a little bit better, he is still a few years away from his peak as well. All-Star 24 year old Short-Stop with 4.0 fWAR production.
  5. I believe he will be worth that much when it's all said and done. Consistently getting 4+ WAR out of one player through the FA market costs a lot more than 15-18. I believe he will be on average a 4.7-5.2 WAR type player. Barring injuries, I believe the Rangers made the right call on this deal.
  6. Aybar is also 28 years old and is not peaking. Elvis is 24 entering his prime while putting up already elite numbers. Elvis will only get better and he won't decline at all during the duration of the eight year contract. This will be one of the better eight year deals. 15 million a year is market value for this guy.
  7. I think a lot of you are forgetting he is only 24 years of age. This is a really good deal for someone top five at a position that is scarce for talent, while he is only 24. Knock up job the Texas Rangers front office.
  8. I think it's funny you believe Washington will use a platoon. He will stick to one guy starting there no matter what. Guarantee it.
  9. Nah, Mariners staff isn't that good. They played elite defense in an extreme pitchers park. It was a pretty average rotation. Yeah, I thought you were just doing rotation, I didn't realize you factored in bullpen.
  10. Our rotation (A's) is not top three. Our defense makes it appear like that and will continue to make it appear like that, but we are not a tier one rotation. The Tigers, Rays and Nationals have vastly superior rotations.
  11. Stealing is only worth it if you can steal successfully 80 percent of the time. Anything lower hurts your team.
  12. It's all about the fan experience in Miami.
  13. Don't worry guys you are second in the power rankings. lol
  14. Collaspo wasn't bad last year. Just slightly below average offensively and above average defensively. Equalling to someone who is just average.
  15. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/unfiltered/?p=1042 There is literally no evidence for line up protection. You won't be able to find any wtih a decent sample size.
  16. It's very disconcerting in an argument to post facts and evidence for a certain position to have someone post "LOL OK" as if that helps their side. This is something that would be very easy to prove if you have facts for it. Everything we see can be measured. The fact that pitch location and pitch type have a standard deviation of 0 should be pretty telling. These aren't hypothetical, this is what actually happened. Pitchers literally pitched Cabera the same exact way despite having Prince Fielder. Lifetime, if you think this position is true than prove it or at least try to refute the numbers.
  17. It doesn't matter what he says because there is no evidence and this is very measurable. There is no varaiation between not having protection, having protection, or a guy on first or not. One obvious example is Miguel Cabera who's stats stayed almost exactly the same after getting Prince behind him and the way the pitchers approached him also did not change at all.
  18. You are absolutely right, because there has been other research done on this and there is in fact no difference in pitch location, type, or speed. The pitcher pitches to get the batter at the plate out. He doesn't change his approach.
  19. http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/32471/how-the-cardinals-use-sabermetrics The reason why people say stats can be manipulated to mean anything is because there are other people with agendas who use stats to mislead. You see this countless times in countless studies, whether it be about vaccinations and autism or the "rape" problem at college campuses. These stats have been conjured through flawed methology. However, when stats are done the correct way, with the scientific process of it all, they are very accurate. Advanced stats do not have an agenda and they have a high correlation to what is actually happening on the baseball field. Do you think it is a coincidence scouting has become more and more accurate every single year? Do you think it is a coincidence the best front offices in baseball use these stats the most. Advanced stats are not manipulated because there is no agenda with them. We know the accuracy of it and saying you can't accurately predict things with them is pretty ignorant. We can and that's why front offices use them.
  20. Nope, your fifth best hitter should hit number three. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2009/3/17/795946/optimizing-your-lineup-by
  21. Your number two hitter should be one of your three best hitters. Aybar does not fit that mold.
  22. Yeah, I agree that he isn't a bad pitcher at all. I think removing the bone spurs will help him expotentially. Anyways, this is Cespedes.
