  1. Probably makes up for that ball call though
  2. Chris Iannetta is a pretty good catcher. It's an offensively starved position and he's much above the average.
  3. They should just use a pitching machine for the all star game. It can still remain hyper competitive, but with a lot of runs.
  4. She won't give up as many homeruns as Blanton.
  5. You want her to call you 'maybe' or maybe have her call you.
  6. Apparently when she was practicing almost all her throws were pretty good or not awful. She did one in Camden yards and it was okay. And she has a nice ass.
  7. Yeah. He has been bad this year. But not as bad Hamilton.
  8. The homerun derby does not effect players swings.
  9. Have you been to a baseball game? Do you watch batting practice? Batting practice is basically a home run derby. Shit, I watched Chris Davis last year at the A's game break one of the windows on mount davis. The homerun derby has no effect on their swing. They are swinging at 40 mph soft tosses. That doesn't change how they hit 90+ stuff.
  10. It wouldn't be out of the ordinary, Yankees went over Cashman and gave A-Rod that second ten year deal
  11. Shit. They have the one run that will do us in.
  12. Well. My A's have no hits through five now.
  13. I love McCarthy. I wish he got to pitch in the playoffs last year. I don't think it would have changed the result, but I loved watching him play.
  14. Bullpens are random. They had a bad one last year. But you can improve your chance of a good one by stocking up young arms and throwing what sticks in it.
  15. Part of the reason Manny hasn't been producing is awful mechanics. I wonder if the Rangers think if they fix his mechanics he will be serviceable.
  16. That's the ump Milton Bradley went off on.
  17. I am okay with the randomness of the playoffs. But I would prefer the better teams getting in there. Or at least the teams with the better records. Why should we play 162 games if the best teams don't get in?
  18. It wasn't trying to disprove whether he used steroids or not. It was saying whether or not steroids actually caused his spike.
  19. In the article linked it covers Barry Bonds. Although, nothing definitely can be proven for his specific case. I don't like anomalies when discussing the effects of something though. A large sample is always the better way to go.
  20. Okay. Studies that use large aggregate samples to compare two large populations. There are case studies that try to prove steroids improve performance, such as Roger Clemens or Barry Bonds.
