Dude, I realize you love to create these situations where the Angels are doomed, acting malevolently, or just plain stupid but ..   get real already.
This was something that reportedly was initiated by MLB.  Maybe you missed it but MLB has been interviewing players left and right because of this little cheating scandal thing that happened (and you downplayed).   If indeed it was MLB that told the Angels then chances are pretty high that there are multiple accounts of it happening and this guy being at fault.
But by all means create a scenario where the Angels have once again done something wrong -- it's what you do.

The MRI didn't reveal even a grade 1 sprain...which is probably why they don't know what to with it at this point.

You are signing him, basically, to add him to the 40 man roster and then assigning him to the 60 day injured list so someone would have to be waived to take him on, hopefully make it through waivers and then add them back.  Then, there is the uncertainty of his pay since you paying him a guaranteed amount upfront with no idea if or when he'll return.  Anyway, I though the "injured player who could return to form" portion was covered by Luiz Gohara and J.C. Ramirez.
And, let's be honest, Sanchez hasn't done anything since 2016.
Could he return to some type of form? Sure...just seems we have healthier and readier options already in camp.

and there is no notes anywhere I can find on his rehab or prognosis.
I imagine, with the injuries surrounding this team the past few years, I doubt Eppler is eager to sign another IL candidate

so you think there are a group of fans here who love every single move eppler has made, whether it worked out or not? wow,  you must be reading a different board than me because i haven't seen it. i've seen plenty of people who are honest about some of his signings and hope for the best. i've also seen plenty of people who don't comment on every single transaction (shut up,@tdawg87) because they're seasoned fans who don't live and die with every move made by the club. please don't mistake our silence on each move as some kind of blanket approval of every single action he has taken. eppler's made his share of head-scratchers, no doubt, but he's also manuevered through the mess left by dipoto patiently. he's not finished, but we're definitely better off now than we were a year ago.
i don't know your age (i'd guess you were must be a younger fan who hasn't been an angels fan for as long as several of us here), but i think you'll find as you get older that it becomes easier and easier to to temper your emotions  with whatever this team is doing. when you say all encompassing things like "All of Eppler’s free agent signings have been garbage" it makes you look pretty irrational and impatient. one thing this franchise makes you confront is the ability to play the long game of patience.

When your response is -- "I didn't bother to read it or I dont care" -- you're basically closing the door.  So, spare me the tough guy talk.   You just like to argue, you don't care whether or not you're repeating what the other person says, you like to pick out one word in 50 and then pretend that's the other person's argument.   It's stupid and I don't see a point in pretending you aren't stupid for going there..

Dude, you cant act like you're above the petty BS then start with stupid shit like "Ineptler lovers".
Eppler's had his misses no doubt, he's also done more to fix this train wreck than any GM since Stoneman.   Jerry Dipoto was a fast talking clown that set this franchise back for years and he still had people eating out of his hands even after he left the place in ruins..  Reagins catches more shit than he probably deserves but I think it's fair to say he was ill prepared and in over his head.  Eppler had to follow after Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle -Dum and deal with a fan base that grew accustomed to winning and increasingly more impatient because "OMG we are wasting Mike Trooooout".  All things considered he's done a really solid job considering the quagmire of no talent and bloated payroll he took over.   If you can't see that then you're the one that's "pathetic" and "embarrassing" yourself.   Fitting choice of words on your part IMO.
Anyway, Eppler's not not perfect, he has to wear his mistakes and people shouldn't downplay them...  Most importantly he has yet to win and that may ultimately cost him his job because well, "Arte", but whether he's here or not next year,  the next GM to have any success in Anaheim will be doing  so using the foundation built by Eppler.
You started a good thread, it doesn't have to turn into the usual tinklefest.

It's also why they appeared to be competitive going into 2016.  Even if Weaver continued his decline (which he did), GRich was a top of the line starter, Santiago at least appeared to be a solid mid-rotation innings eater, Heaney looked impressive, Shoemaker had some good numbers prior and could at least be counted on to be a back of the rotation starter, and Tropeano looked solid in 7 starts (3.93 ERA 100 ERA+).  There appeared to be dependable talent and depth and then:
Heaney was disabled after 1 start
Richards goes down to an elbow injury on May 6th
    Tropeano season ended July 18th
Skaggs didn't return until late July
Shoemaker was nailed in head with a line drive in Sept
At one stretch, our starters were Ricky Nolasco, Tim Lincecum, Jhoulys Chacin, a depleted Jered Weaver, and a returning Tyler Skaggs.

Haven't scanned the transactions since end of 2015 but this one was pretty good:
    December 9, 2017
Signed Shohei Ohtani as a free agent.

Yeah, that's essentially it, they were in it until the last day in 2015, with a huge comeback the day before:
    https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/TEX/TEX201510030.shtml
With a rotation of Garrett Richards (3.65 ERA 1.04 ERA+ 1.240 WHIP in 207.1 IP), Hector Santiago (3.59 ERA 1.05 ERA+ 1.256 WHIP in 180.2 IP), Andrew Heaney (3.49 ERA 108 ERA+ 1.202 WHIP in 18 GS 105.2 IP), Matt Shoemaker (4.46 ERA 85 ERA+ 1.256 WHIP in 135.1 IP), and Jered Weaver (4.64 ERA 81 ERA+ 1.233 WHIP in 159 IP) you are expecting to compete in 2016.  Eppler coming in to 2016 must have felt pretty good about his chances in a Division where Texas were AL West champs with 88 wins and the Astros barely squeaked in the Wild Card with 86 wins.
