How the fuck did Ippei have access to “millions” of Ohtani’s money without Shohei knowing? This is fucking weird. 

The Dodgers will have a strangle hold on the Japanese market for the next 10-12 years because of these two signings. I expect them to be in the running for every major talent that is posted because they've got the money and the market. 

2 opt out options for Yamamoto, a $50 million dollar signing bonus, and no deferments. Insane deal for him without ever throwing a pitch in MLB. 

The Dodgers' have been planning for this offseason for awhile now. I'm honestly impressed with their management.

100% this. I don't fault Arte for not matching the contract; it just sucks knowing that the offer was there to match it lol. No guarantee he still would've picked us had Arte said yes BUT I fail to see why at this point; any Angel fan would fault him or hate him for leaving.

We didn't win with him; we weren't going to win with him on this contract. Too many holes to fill.
