I really hope that report above isn't true.  If so, it is such a waste and so incredibly sad

Twitter posts are saying accidental drug overdose.
Don't shoot me if that's false.

Pujols hasn't been criticized like that since he was in high school, as a 24 year-old.

When my great Aunt passed away, I went to her house to help clean it out to get ready for sale.  We found a bunch of civil war era items that were really cool... and a few KKK uniforms.
I had a family member that had a boyfriend in the 70s that bombed a casino and then used her as a getaway driver, unknown to her at the time.  When she found out what he did, as she was driving him away, he threatened to kill her so instead she drove the car into a ditch injuring both of them seriously, but allowing the police to catch him.  I didn't find out until about ten years ago.

Obviously you don't blow anything up and you still look for upgrades if you can get a starter under club control past next season.
But the bottom line is this team isn't good enough to go for anything this year. It's frustrating to say that again, but our window to contend just isn't quite open yet. They've been hovering between 5 games under .500 and 2 games over .500 the entire year. That basically tells me that 80 wins (which means @Stradling and I get to both say we were right) is about what they'll finish at again, barring some unforeseen performances.
Guys like Calhoun, La Stella, Goodwin, etc should be on the block in order to acquire more help for future seasons.  And they should listen at least on Simmons. Yes, it sucks to trade contributors/fan favorites but it's the reality of the situation we are in

Getting off on the manager doing this is pretty fan stupid.  Like it matters.

    Let's talk teen pregnancies.
I grew up with a girl whose mother died from breast cancer at a young age.  Prior to this time, the girl and her dad were very close.  They were even closer after mom was gone, to the point she hung out with her dad on the weekends when the rest of us wanted nothing to do with our parents.  So they're both grieving the loss of mom...no big deal, right?  Then, about a year later, the girl is pregnant at age 15 with no sign of a teenage father around.  The baby was born, and very quickly, they packed their belongings and moved cross country.  I still think that guy knocked up his daughter.
On that same theme, I can't help but think it's disturbing when the details of other teen pregnancies are kept so secret.

Another story...family lore is that my mom's ass of a father...that his side of the family was connected, owned a land and oil wells back in Illinois in the early 1900's. My great uncle was busted for counterfeiting and to keep him out of jail the family ended up bribing the governor to get him pardoned. Flash forward a few years and my great aunt finds out my great uncle is counterfeiting again and calls the cops on him herself and as the cops are busting down the door my great uncle is handing my grandfather the plates/evidence and telling him to toss them in the river down the street.
No idea how true that story is

My mom's father was an ass...ran around on my grandmother constantly...would disappear for years at a time. Being a strict Catholic my grandmother would ask the priest to allow her to get a divorce/annulment but he would say no. One day my grandfather shows up at the hospital my grandmother works at, as a patient. He starts carrying on a multi year affair with another nurse. At some point the other nurses wises up and takes off. Grandfather goes back to being the debauchery asshole that he was and disappears again...finding one woman after another to run into the ground and getting punched out by my uncle for picking up another woman right in front of him.
Flash forward many years, my grandmother's passed, and he's found another woman to leech off of and spends most of his time trying to guilt his grandchildren into loving him...and that invariably fails.
So he passes and my mom and her 2 living siblings get a note from a lawyer that my grandfather has left his 5 living children his entire estate...which equals nothing because he had nothing. Turns out the nurse he was having an affair with had two of his children and then bailed to California to get away from him and remarrying and telling both of her kids that her new husband was their father (or that their father had died...we weren't quite clear on that). They lived their entire lives believing that.
So, from what we can gather from his last wife is that my grandfather, being the asshole that he was, even though he didn't have anything to give them, decided as a final fuck all to everyone called them out in his will.

He was 88 and his passing was actually for the better. He had been suffering with Alzheimers for the last four years and degenrating health to the point he couldn't stand and walk. We did what we could, medical and nursing home but it was well past time for him to move on. Funeral is Saturday in Montana and he's getting a military burial. Looks like it will be nice and sunny and maybe we will dig out one his old fishing poles and dip a line in his honor.

We found some old family data, I forget how.  An address book where my grandparents on my dad's side lived.  My dad had passed away, my mom took one look at it, and says, "oh that's where (grandpa) was having sex with the woman in the apartment next door.  They moved soon after."

My mom se t me the family slide collection. Most were in cartridges for use with the slide projector but some were loose in envelopes. I went through every single slide and transfered them to file format.
Then I found roles of negatives that were never printed. Most were of my Dad's time in Europe when he was in the air force. Amongst the shots of various forgotten friends in the service and shots of airfields and planes were several pictures of a woman, obviously not my Mom. Then pictures of her with my Dad.
I made jump drives of the nearly 2,000 pictures for my siblings, excluding the girlfriend pictures. My father just passed away and the funeral is this weekend. Those pics will never see the light of day until Mom passes on.  Or maybe Dad's secret ends with me.
