Look at it the way Kings fans look at Trevor Lewis. If he actually had decent hands the team wouldn't be able to afford him. Appreciate him for what he can do well.

You could totally get away with your first sentence if every time someone had a different viewpoint you didn't ridicule them or make some snarky passive aggressive comment calling them an imbecile or trying to claim their party lines because it differs from yours.

I almost got kicked out of Sunday School for taking a dollar out of the donation plate. I thought it was free money. Honest mistake.

I worked with a bunch of Mexican immigrants growing up (my family had a restaurant). Most of them would laugh at the notion of a 60-hour workweek. Perhaps 60 hours for their first job, then maybe another 20-30 for their second one.And the Vietnamese are a wonderful example of how hard work leads to success. I used to have a Vietnamese barber. He learned enough English to converse adequately. Got a barber license. That right there shows more ambition than many Americans. And when you asked him about his five kids, all were either a white collar professional (a teacher, a doctor, and something else) or at a top university (Berkeley or UCLA).
These people didn't have a damn thing handed to them - they simply worked their asses off. And they were so grateful for the opportunity. Most people in this world would kill for the opportunity to be able to work for pay for 60+ hours per week.

My exact thoughts. Every paragraph.
Firstly, there is a definite problem with people who cant afford to take care of themselves reproducing. Anyone having kids before they establish themselves (usually mod 20s at least) is digging their own hole. Teenagers more so. Not saying it cant work. Ive dated a girl off and on for years who had a kid in high school. By 25 she was a nurse, 30 now, and has a masters. So it can happen. The odds are just very low (she was lucky enough to have parents to help her watch the kid. She used thst to go to school and work 2 jobs, not party).
Like brandon said, i know several people who are first generstion immigrants who made it. Not to mention, ones i dont realy know, but know the story. Go to any dry cleaner, talk to the younger korean/chinese/vietnamese guy ip front and see his dad in the back who doesnt speak much english. You know the kid is headed to college. It comes down to the old man working his ass off, saving, and reinvesting. Not buying things he can afford.
AJ is right, life ahouldnt be all work. And i envy europe, australia, new zealand etc for their lifestyles. But thats not the way things are here. And if youre here, you have to participate in the set up if you want to succeed.

Maybe I'm an asshole and people can correct me, but I think your income and value should come into consideration before having kids. There is a level of personal responsibility that comes with having kids or starting a family. Simply having kids or a family shouldn't be something that others have to change your parameters. If anything, we should be striving to work harder to provide a better life for our families and mainly our kids to hopefully surpass us when they are older.
People take advantage of the system now by having kids or taking in foster kids to live off government funds without having to work.
I agree on a work/life balance and appreciate it more as I'm older, but I feel I have to be responsible and work harder to earn that or put myself in that position than have it handed to me. If I had a family and my income wasn't enough, that's on me to work harder or find a new job that gave me the work life balance I wanted. The amount of immigrants that come to this company and make something of themselves and provide for their families is so profound, it's really not fair to just hand things over to people that don't deserve them or haven't worked for them.
I respect both sides of the party and different points of view, but this is one of the most asinine things and thought processes I have ever come across.

Then the answer is easy. Instead of welfare, the government should just supply alarm clocks to these people

7 shootings and 1 homicide per day, = 365 deaths and 2,555 wounded per year, just in chicago.
i'd say it's time for something drastic.
MT, i know you'll be upset by this, and that's okay, but if a few legal guns are gathered in notti's suggested round up and quarantine for 180 days, i think that's an acceptable cost for trying to protect the innocent and cool down what has become a nightmare situation for so many people.
no idea if this would work, notti, but sometimes something extreme has to be done.

The positive to Nashville is it will be mostly Ducks fans in the Ponda...if we play Sharks or Kings there will be quite a few away fans.

Haha love it! Seriously though, how are you not pissed if you are Maroon? You go from one of the best run franchise in the league with a shot to win the cup to one of the worst franchises in the league and an early date with the golf course.
