I was going to ask Fletcher if MLB was looking into any HIPAA laws being violated...

I would have to think that would be part of the investigation. If Dipoto (or someone else) knowingly released Ohtani's Medical records to a third party without Ohtani's consent, that would be a HIPAA violation.

Reminds me of the Jason Pierre-Paul and ESPN/Schefter incident. JPP started litigation and they ended up settling outside of court. This type of thing is should not be taken lightly, it can have serious legal consequences. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2691039-jason-pierre-paul-espn-reach-settlement-after-adam-schefter-shared-medical-info

  2. I've heard announcers spout this "rule" of the bat breaking the plate so many times; I thought it actually was the rule. The MLB rule book is huge, and there is not a clear definition of what a "swing" is versus a "Check swing". That is absurd. Just put it in the rule book that the bat has to cross the plate and make it official. I don't think Gubi should be called out for this though, I've heard this from a ton of different announcers.

  3. An absolute class act, I love the emotion he showed on the mound. One of my all-time favorite Angels. Still upset I wasn't at his no-hitter. I lived in the apartments across Orangewood at that time and the Wife and I almost got last-minute tickets from Stubhub. Wife wasn't feeling well so we decided against it. He breezed through the first three innings and I told my wife he had no hit stuff, and that she was in big trouble if he threw one that night. We still argue about that game. The other game that comes to mind is the no-hit loss he threw against the Dodgers. That was extremely frustrating, especially watching that game with some Dodger fans. Ugh.
