Great job by CJ last night. If he can harness that for the whole season, our rotation will be in great shape!

Couldnt afford both? Are those Mariners tickets much more expensive than it is at the Big A? Or are you just not a fan of the cheap seats
I'm getting married back in CA in 5 weeks. So yeah, it wasn't in the budget this time. And we are sitting in the cheap seats tomorrow. Haha. Basically, I just didn't want to shell out more money to see CJ pitch tonight. Like Chuck said, the tix are more expensive for opening week.
-
Tomorrow is up in the air. I should have picked tomorrow over tonight, but I got these tickets a few weeks ago.
I'll let you know if I go.
Either way, we should get a beer in Seattle before you head to the game if I do or don't attend tomorrow's game.
Yeah, let me know! Not sure if we can make it from Tacoma to Seattle after work with enough time to spare before the game. But we can try. Or we can definitely grab a beer at the stadium if we both end up there.

It just sucks that one of those pitches he didn't call for the Angels was in the most crucial part of the game. Turned a called 3rd strike (which was not only in an area he'd been calling the 2 innings prior for Felix, but was actually in the zone) that should have ended the inning into 2 runs. Sure, some of thats still on Weaver, but he should have never been in the situation to begin with. Either way they most likely would have lost because regardless of the ump Felix was on point.
That was a bad call, as that pitch was in the zone. However, Weave's next pitch was hung so badly that Mathis could have hit it out.

The home plate ump was terrible today. If you watched the game, it was pretty obvious, even without Doc's numbers proving it.
Edit: He was terrible for both sides. He was calling the same pitch a strike in one inning, and then a ball in the next inning. Hitters were complaining all game.

I personally see this as beneficial for the Angels. I know you can't take money away from the argument, but let's pretend you did, who is Josh Hamilton in a baseball sense?
He's a former MVP that is left-handed so he balances the lineup and he provides the Angels with intriguing depth.
You obviously can't platoon Joyce with Ham, they're both left handed, so one would have to platoon with Cron at DH. But what if Cron is killing the ball the way I predict he will. Do you take that bat out of the lineup?
What if both Joyce and Cron are highly productive?
What if somehow Ham recoves fully and is the guy the Angels had at the beginning if last year, the true middle if the order presence. Then what?
These are good problems to have in the baseball sense. Yes it sucks he's a junky, yes it sucks he costs you 30 million a year. But if you get over that, he's a good baseball player to have on your team.
What if Hamilton continues to swing at absolutely everything that's thrown in his zip code? What if Scioscia continues to play him, and continues to hit him in the middle of the order? What if he continues to be a distraction and negative influence in the clubhouse? Then what?

Wow. This is crazy. As others have said, what kind of example does this set for the rest of the league? It's OK if you do coke, as long as you confess before you test positive? What a joke. Very interesting tweet from Mike DG. This could get pretty entertaining. Don't the Angels have the power to suspend him themselves? (With Pay)?

Disar today with Joyce.......Out by SEVERAL feet. This guys is going to loose games for us.
And Joyce was recently nursing a hamstring as well. This concerned me. He was out by a mile.

It had to be a black GM that spouted that nonsense. F'n Reagins!

Damn, I miss watching Vlad. As others have said, I had to stop what I was doing to watch every time he came up. Good read with some awesome quotes, thanks for posting.

That was in Oakland, August, 2005. Day game against the A's. Eric Chavez tied it in the 7th with a 3-run bomb against Donnelly, then Jason Kendall scored from third in the 9th when Frankie dropped the throw from Jose Molina.
Wow. It's already been ten years? Crazy.

The game when Frankie was pouting after what he thought was a bad call (I think) and he missed the throw back from the catcher, which allowed the winning run to score. I want to say it was against the Mets. Good times.
