Hiking in Gypsum Canyon… Fuck Arte… Just go away…
-
9 December 2023… Yer welcome Arte…. Freddie, Mookie, and Ohtani are 3 of my 4 favorite ball players…. Trout is the 4th… I’ll check in here to see how my “minor league” team is doing, but I’m unplugged from the Halos (until Arte sells)… Hope Trout is freed from this purgatory…. I think it would be AWESOME if the Dogs traded for him! Much respect to Shohei for maintaining his insistence that winning is the priority and structuring his contract accordingly… He couldn’t have picked a better franchise…! Happy to see Rendon milk Arte for the next few years… Moreno deserves every tug…

Re-assessing Mike Trout's Career Greatness (by WAR)
Deek replied to Angelsjunky's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Interesting... Nice work AJ... -
Outside of Ohtani... Black Jack McDowell...
-
1 - Hamilton 2 - Gary Mathews Jr 3 - Tony Phillips
-
1B - Mark McGwire (who cares about the juice - dude was an all-time beast when healthy) 2B - Alomar - In spite of his expectorating... 3B - Scott Rolen (with all due respect to Mike Schmidt) SS - Omar Vizquel - not much with the bat, but I've never seen a better glove... C - Buster Posey (I'm just not convinced Bench was better)... RF - Vlad Guerrero - prior to Ohtani, Vlad was the most hypnotic player I ever watched... (And Roberto Clemente is one of my all-time favs) CF - Trout... period... LF - Barry Bonds (see Mac above)... DH - Shohei Ohtani - hits for power... and did I mention he could fly around the bases and steal a bag... SP - Bob Gibson is my #1 (by a country mile!), Koufax, Pedro Martinez, Gregg Maddux, Roger Clemens (even though I didn't like him) RP - Scott Shields... best set up man I've ever seen (and he was so consistent for so long), Mariano Rivera (duh)

That's because it is... This team has endured a ridiculous and debilitating number of injuries... However improbable: I'm still holding out hope for a Trout/Ohtani beast-mode run for the ages... to do that though, they need the complimentary bats in the lineup (see: O'Hoppe, Zeto, Mous, Drury, Rengifo, Renfroe)... Unlike recent history - I don't think many of us would be surprised if the Halos ripped off 10-12 straight or 16/20... This lineup is capable of that...

So I’m taking my best friend and his teenage son to their 1st Angels game on Wednesday 23 Aug… The game is at 1:00 and it’s been some time since I attended a day game… Found some seats in sections 223 and 224, but before I plunk down the money I wanted to check with you all and see if these will be in the shade for the duration of the game…??? Any insight is greatly appreciated - thanks in advance…!

Kudos to him... He seemed like a good dude while he was here - wish nothing but the best for him...

Should the Angels sign Moustakas this off season?
Deek replied to tomsred's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Uh… yeah… that’s on Mous…?!?! Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot…?!?! Great clubhouse presence… I don’t see how you don’t extend him an offer given his pedigree, versatility, and production… Having nothing to do with the team shitting the bed since his arrival…. -
Ohtani wants to win, so where should he go?
Deek replied to Farmbuildingfan's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
I actually think this carries 66% of the weight of Ohtani’s decision… He’s a different cat… I actually think he values his legacy - as “the man”… as a player who played for a single franchise… He’s rebuffed the Doyers once - and backtracking Kershaw’s butt-hurt comments at the time seems unlikely… The Giants had a ton of money to spend last year, but were unsuccessful - I see them as the front runner if he leaves… Seattle is a distant second… because… it’s freaking Seattle…! I won’t be surprised at all if he resigns with the Angels (in spite of Arte)…. And I won’t be surprised if he leaves (nor could I blame him)… but if he does leave, I think it’s a two horse race between the Giants and Mariners… I’m hoping Trout returns in the next couple of days and he and Ohtani go on a beast-mode playoff run… but in the more probable likelihood that doesn’t happen - Minasian has done his part… And I’ll wish Ohtani nothing but the best…
