  1. And the good news is you may catch on of the HR's they hit off Bundy tonight.
  2. But it's not really the same is it? Bachman is being developed as a starter. Kimbrel was always a reliever.
  3. I think he has played himself out of a 2023 roster spot. Package him a trade in the offseason or let him try to figure it out in SLC. 1B is the best spot where we can upgrade this offense in 2023. Rendon is all ours at 3B. Fletcher and Rengifo will be the middle infield. The outfield is locked in to a combo of hope and faith with Adell and Ward. Catcher is still Stassi with O'Hoppe in the wings. So back to 1B. Let's sign Jose Abreu to a 2/3 year deal.
  4. So, wasn't this thread supposed to be about O'Hoppe?
  5. Really? I don't remember him being compared to those guys. I mean he turned 28 at mid-season so maybe Justin Turner?
  6. The biggest change with Walsh this year is he sucks against RHP's. Last year he had an OPS of .994 versus them, this year it's .681. His numbers are better against LHP's this year - .660 TY vs. .565 LY.
  7. Arte may be a lot of things but he's no Georgia Frontiere.
  8. So why are the same teams winning and the same teams losing?
  9. WTF? Even Perry does not believe this. He took responsibility.
  10. Really? This team is not in buyer mode. They're not in seller mode either. They are stuck.
  11. True. There are only a few organizations that don't fall short of or are equitable of the Dodgers success. The Braves, the Yankees. the Astros. I think you do the best you can, with what you've got, where you are. So there are other teams doing that. The Rays, the Blue Jays, the Padres, even the Mariners are moving in the right direction. Others as well. Point is we are not. Rank the 30 teams. Who is worse than our Angels at drafting, developing and trading? Maybe it's the Royals and the Tigers. Even teams like the Pirates and the Reds are developing young studs. We are #28. This is who we are.
  12. True. Angels suck at international signings also. 2016 is a good/bad example of the draft. Dodgers: Gavin Lux, Will Smith, Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin Angels: Matt Thaiss, Brandon Marsh Matt Thaiss went in the first round before Gavin Lux and Will Smith. So one year, sure 2016 could be an anomaly, but actually it's an example of the bad choices the Angels have been making in the draft and in free agency and in the international market for for over a decade. I'm a life long Angels fan and I always will be. My earliest baseball memories are going to games in the late 70's and watching Frank Tanana and Nolan Ryan pitch. But my team has been run poorly for a long time. Maybe if Arte had resigned Eppler I wouldn't be typing this, maybe not. I hope Perry Minasian's recent actions build a core for the future. Zach Neto feels like a future star.
  13. Yes. Show the f***ing Dodgers. They are so much better at drafting and developing. Is it because they put more money into scouting and development and billboard man won't?
  14. With this team you know they have no chance down 2 runs in the 9th. No chance. Why did I turn the game back on...
  15. Does he have kids who are involved with the team? Will there be a generational handoff?
