The Angels made it to the playoffs once in that span and one a total of zero games.

The larger point is that, on paper, they are ways away from contending for a WS, but they still spent the money instead of being a pathetic MLB franchise like the Marlins, Pirates, or O's.

Eppler has too much talent on the roster and in the minor leagues, as well as the financial resources, to not field a deep playoff team. 

This offseason is a slap in the face to Mike Trout and I wouldn't blame him if he turns down an extension and counts down till he is a FA. This is frankly embarrassing. 

On a one year contract, sent from the evil empire on a mission, to do nothing to win around Trout so he signs with the Yankees in FA.

Didn't Ohtani sign with the Mariners this same way? Jerry working the fans over.
