I was just pointing out that technically he wasn't fired...   It was imo pretty clearly a firing.   The Stoneman reference should have made it clear I was just having fun with the "techincally" talk.
Don't assume I'm trying to argue with you

Yes.  My point is the Owner made bad hires.  DiPoto left because it was a bad environment for him and he didn't want to stick around.  Whether you think he'd be fired at the end of the year or not.  The point remains -- he didn't like the setup/job/workplace that the owner had in place and bolted.  It wasn't a right fit.  That's on the owner.
Reagins -- come on.  If you truly think he quit and Angels wanted him to stay LT as the GM....then i'm wasting my time right now.

Tons of turnover in the GM department, regardless of reason, is not a positive.

"Technically" Reagins wasn't fired, he was reassigned.   This is all Stoneman's fault for retiring!

4 of the 5 are what i literally thought to be also rans. mcleod is the only one that i thought had a serious chance at being the guy. i'm over following this. whoever they hire is who they hire, for better or worse. i've been one foot out on sports these days anyway.

This tells me more of the same from the Angels ownership - budget conscious, small, etc. type FO organization setup.  Arte will spend money (trout, FA) but In the wrong places for the long term health of the business.   It’s like a Fortune 500 company trying to be run organizationally like a small business.

"Pretty ok", is about as excited as I can possibly get.
I just don't think it matters who the GM is if he won't be given the autonomy to get shit done.
Beyond that, with so much in the air with Covid and the sort...  Its a whole lot of nada.

If Pujols is the one hitting the sac fly, it's a huge victory.

It does go with my thoughts, that it’s all about the marketing/advertising, and not nearly as much on the things the average fan doesn’t see, like scouting/development.
It is admittedly hard having confidence, when Moreno/Carpino are essentially 0.5 (Eppler improving the farm) for 3.0 in GM hires.

I feel like it’s little things like this that reflect poorly on the top of the Angels organization. After awhile it starts to make sense why the team has sucked.

I'd prefer Cesar over Wong.  But not enough to care much either way.  Either would be relatively good, low cost MI option....leaving more for SP/RP.

Angels in 2030 reacted to OhtaniSan in Ohtani pitching in 2021
I think we need to have 5 solid SP's and keep Ohtani as a wild card for the 6th spot. We've relied on Ohtani to be the #1 guy last two years and have been burned due to injury.
    1. Free Agent SP
    2. Bundy
    3. Heaney
    4. Canning
    5. Barria or Free Agent SP2
    6. Ohtani

I still think Ohtani can be and will be the ace he is capable of, but it's best to err on the side of caution when building our rotation to avoid a repeat of the last decade of relying on injury prone pitchers.
