  1. Clearly he's being blackballed by MLB and the owners. That's why he hasn't returned. Seriously, there is a constant list of rapists, drunk drivers, wife/girlfriend beaters, cheaters, drug users, etc. and they are given 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. chances by these same owners time & time again. The owners themselves fall under this same category. Not to mention coaches, GMs, etc. If you think otherwise, you're quite naive.
  2. In the very short-term, sure. Having a bad system will prevent you from much needed additions internally and via trades. But over 8 years, it doesn't hold water. Eventually there should be good draft picks, selling pieces for prospects, etc. The funny thing is they got Ohtani as a freeby basically -- no draft pick. Sure he cost their int'l money, but those guys are lottery tickets at best. Ohtani was a sure thing and turned out even better. OK, maybe a bad GM screws things up...well, they've gone thru what like three now the past few years. I mean seriously, can you mess things up even more? A top 5-10 ML budget, Trout and Ohtani....yet can't even get to 500. Time to walk away from the table, cash in what you have Arte and move on to let someone else take your spot on the table.
  3. It's quite an accomplishment that a team who hasn't finished over 500 in over 8 years can have such a bad farm system. Consistency i guess and two things you can count on from this Arte owned organization for almost a decade now -- an under 500 record and a bad farm system. Arte selling and 2030 can't come soon enough.
  4. Arte selling anytime soon is wishful thinking. He had his chance and chose against it. Maybe in 3-5 years if we’re lucky.
  5. Imagine what Roki Sasaki would get on the free market -- he's only 21 but he's bigger, better, throws harder, etc. Then again, if Yamamoto tanks/fails, then this will put a huge dent into Roki's future MLB market.
  6. The local Fox news a couple days ago was talking about various '___ of the year'. They then got to sporting teams and the guy immediately says "gotta be the Dodgers -- the Ohtani signing". I seriously could not believe what i heard...even from idiot people read news. Team of the year for a team who lost yet again in the first round of the playoffs....but they spent a shet-ton of money to sign a soon-to-be 30 year old who is injured and can't pitch until 2025. SMH. Classic LA sports fan there in a nutshell.
  7. 1996 team had several young future cornerstone players and WS champs - GA, Erstad, Salmon, Perci, etc. Won 70 games and it resulted in Angels getting Troy Glaus from the draft. I’ll take that again.
  8. We’re twins - although I’m guessing Arte sells in 2025-2026.
  9. Billionaire with a 1600% investment return. An ultra exclusive club that allows him access to the most famous people in the world and sports world. While being the boss and feeling like a king of this exclusive item he owns. Is this a serious question? Winning is nice. Making money and feeling famous and part of an exclusive club - that’s what it is about. Fans care about winning. Owners care about money and their investment.
  10. and yet, they never traded him when they had the opportunity in 2022 and 2023 smh.
  11. It's weird, i equally think: wow, they stole him being locked up for 5 years at under $30M......and wow, they sunk 5 years into this 30yr old guys who can't stay healthy. I seriously don't know what to think about Glasnow and his next 5 years. I also didn't realize he was already 30. I thought he was younger. Maybe his arm is fresh and 30-35 will age well. Or maybe he's damaged goods and will be spurts of success with mostly DL time. LAD certianly have some huge upside, elite potential in their rotation for 2025+...like 3-4 ace type guys. Then again, it's possible none of these guys (Ohtani, Glasnow, Buehler) are ever healthy come the playoffs in 2025+
  12. I have no problem with him not wanting to match that offer. The Angels sinking another huge 10year deal to a 30-40yr old Ohtani would be a mistake for the on field success LT. The problem is not seeing the obvious (he's leaving and we're not contending) and trading him in summer 2022, off-season 2022, summer 2023. Every opportunity to start a rebuild using the one true asset you have...and failure again from Arte. Just sell...please
  13. I think they are better off not having Ohtani. Years 30+, multiple injuries, 45-50M cap hit, 6 man rotation, etc. -- that's not a recipe for success. They got his best years 23-29. Thanks Shohei! Now onto the next one. Start scouting, drafting & developing better.
  14. No way Angels are getting Yamamoto...or even Montgomery. But yes, Arte will do SOMETHING stupid to overpay for a so-called "name" and put his face up at stadium.
  15. I'm even more on board with a Bauer signing now that SO is with the LAD. But it doesn't seem to be in the cards for Arte. Missing an opportunity imo.
  16. Ok sure. But isn’t the issue with the dodgers is they have tons of money to spend? Plus all the money they generate with media, etc. Money and cash flow is not a problem.
  17. What a lamo switching teams is for pu$$ies I’m literally embarrassed for you id never switch teams. Never. Especially not for a player or two. Not even a bad owner - I just don’t give them my money.
  18. With steroids (mostly) gone, guys don't get better and healthier during their 30-40 years. So angels got the best and least costly years of Ohtani. Cool. Now dodgers get years 30-40 at WAY past market value. Good luck with that. imagine trying to live up to a 700m contract now. Yikes. Good thing he can hid behind the language issue when reporters come at him if things don’t go so well.
