  1. I have no problems with this. It’ll be cool having him still in socal and watching the ohtani crazy circus. Fun stuff. maybe this gets Arte to change finally (lol yeah right) if he blows/sucks, then lol for some other team being stupid for once. But really at that price, even 550, it’s absurd. I’m just glad the Angels didn’t make the mistake. We got him for his great years. Let someone else have the leftover crumbs ala AP.
  2. Nice salary dump/save. Good move. I don’t know why some grumps want to whine about. Kinda funny though seeing crying over it.
  3. Why the Angels in Anaheim originally? The dude likes the anonymity and lack of media attention -- and the ability to have personal control of things from the team, etc.
  4. This team needs to keep their pitchers -- not trade them. Hoarding pitching is a trait they need to have engrained in their organizational philosophy.
  5. I've always found Trader Joe's to be pretty inexpensive and great deals on their stuff. I shop there like twice a week. Now Whole Foods -- that's an over priced store.
  6. I’m not sure what’s more embarrassing. The collapse right after the big TDL deals and resulting player waivers…..or the celebration for getting below the level. Either way, just a sad/pathetic set of events. There really should be no padding on the back involved here.
  7. Any changes the Angels make in the Organization are a welcome site. Even if it's George Costanza.
  8. Buyer beware on Snell. I think the team that signs him will regret it a lot earlier than usual. But more so, I think the Angels are not true contenders this year. It’s the long game and I think the 25 year old is a much better fit for what this team is currently and going forward.
  9. He's not coming back. Having said that, those are good odds from a gambling standpoint and is certainly worthwhile on a flyer.
  10. Josh Hamilton as the new Angels hitting coach. Esteban Loaiza as the new Angels pitching coach.
  11. In a vacuum, you're right. But the better option is neither. This team can't spend its way out of the quicksand that it's in with yet another huge LT FA deal. Smart, short-term deals -- sure. Meanwhile building their farm system via the draft, international market...and more importantly, spending on scouting & developmental staff up & down the organization. But, unfortunately, I think we know which path the organization (Arte) will take here.
  12. I respectfully disagree. We need all the talent we can get...and finding it in our farm system and via FA is not happening anytime soon. The real problem is that the Angel's organization does not have the development staff and medical/etc. staff to turn these types of guys around. Same with guys that just need a tweak, change. etc. from a good development staff. It's the other way around -- guys leave and turn things around elsewhere. It's the same theme/problem for the angels organization as a whole -- heavy at top with no foundation to support it.
  13. As if the Angels have a plethora of young prospects that they need room for. Yikes. CRod is the kind of arm and young player they should be searching high/low from other teams to gather up in hopes of finding an occasional piece of gold. Weird
  14. Imagine being back in 2015 8 years ago after the season. Finished 3 GB that season with 98 wins the season before. Imagine someone saying at that time that the Angels would not finish above 500 for the next 8 straight years -- with Trout and with a two time MVP combo SP/hitter that rivals Babe Ruth. Plus a top 1/3rd payroll. To top things off, at the end of this 8 years in 2023, the Angels might be the worst off going into the post-season than during any of those previous years. I'm not sure any of us could believe such a tall tell (some still don't want to hear it and prefer to believe otherwise).
