  5. remember when the Angels org were purposely stifling the progression of Borenstein and Yarbrough? That poster was one of the all time greats.
  6. yep, last year he proclaimed a very long self ban, and he couldn't just withhold himself while the kings were making his comeback against the ducks so he started to pop up in the NHL forum. It last a couple of days. The he came back to the main forum well before his self ban should have ended and proclaimed how childish self bans were and they he would never do them again. And lets be honest. Every time you are in a thread and see "guest" under "users reading this topic" it is going to be AO just signed out of his username. There is zero chance that the guy can stay away from this place.
  7. College football Being a PAC fan, as much as I hate to say it, the fans at Oregon just do not compete. Sure the in game experience and noise is good but other than that it really is not close. So many college football fans in other areas east of the rockies are literally at the stadium all day. I was floored when I went to an Ole Miss game and they are really not even at the same level as an Auburn, Alabama, or Texas A&M from what you here. I am going to a Nebraska and Michigan game this year. I hear Nebraska fans are crazy. They are usually ranked as one of the best. Oregon just seems great because most of the PAC schools are awful. Oregon, Utah, and Arizona seem to have the best in game environment in the PAC.
  8. Think outside the box 1st inning: street 2nd inning: smith 3rd inning: the flavor of the week 7th inning guy 4th-9th inning: GRich
  9. I just went a couple of years ago. I think it was 1996. Just sit at the bottom of the hill where Ninja is and watch people trip on the speed bump that sits right at the bottom of the hill (I hope it is still there). Doing that beat standing in line all day.
  10. I love this place. Just one week ago this place was the board equivalent of hookers and blow. One bat away from the WS and that is was very obvious that the Astros were playing above their head at the beginning of the season. Now the Zoloft is out in full and being abused with exclamations that previous three weeks was just a mirage and the Astros look the better team.
  11. Park City has a population of 8,000 people......but there are 7 or 8 private clubs in the area. Whenever we go up there, no one and I mean no one is playing the courses...........freakin' rich people who are members of a club for a vacation house they visit one week per year. These are the type of people tank must always have lunch meetings with.
  12. The USGA doesn't use water to get the course ready for the US Open
  13. Love and Mercy Highly recommended for beach boys fans or just anyone who likes to see how music is put together in a studio. Paul Dano and John Cusick were great
  14. This is a post by an A's fan from another message board that he just posted. It was in discussion on this trade but more about Beane in general. Beane is off his rocker - I'm surrounded by A's fans who are 'on-strike' against going to A's games because of what Billy Beane has done in the last 12 months: - For two years (June 2012 to June 2014), the A's had the best record in the baseball. - As of July 3, 2014 (when Beane's first major trade occurred), the A's had the best record in MLB by FIVE games and were on pace for the best run-differential in baseball in almost 25 years. - Every major contributor was under contract through at least the end of 2015, except for SS Jed Lowrie, but it just so happened that the A's had one of the Top 5 prospects in all of baseball (Addison Russel) waiting to replace Lowrie. In short, the A's were the favorite for the W.S. in 2014 and were perfectly set-up for 2015. Since July 3, 2014, the A's had the worst record in MLB through mid-May 2015 (they've been decent for the past 30 games). What happened in between: - Billy Beane has traded away 7 all-stars (including Josh Donaldson, an annual MVP candidate) and each of the A's top-4 prospects - In return, the A's have received a decent young starting pitcher, an error prone third baseman, the most error prone short-stop in MLB, arguably the worst bullpen in baseball, Ben Zorbrist, and one top-tier prospect. - This all appeared to be to cut-costs, but then Beane signed Billy Butler ($11 million per) and Ike Davis ($7 million per), giving the A's the same payroll that last year's best-team-in baseball had. So Billy Beane inarguably made the team worse. The minor league system is worse. And the payroll is the same. So what was the point?
  15. There is this poster on the board by the name of AngelOracle. He will sometimes bring up Kazmir, his recent success, and Butcher.
  16. In general, should Green get playing time over some of these yahoos like Joyce? Of course. Last night though, we were ahead when Frees was hurt so Scioscia went with the better defense at third with Featherston and we were well ahead when Trout need to be put back in and lose the DH spot so he went with the best possible defense. That is my thinking anyway.
  17. If cron was on my co-ed softball team, i would make sure he fakes an injury so the last chick to make an out could pinch run for him.
  18. I think posters who self ban themselves oughta shampoo my crotch.
  19. After the game, Street knelt down with his two young sons, Ripken and Ryder, and had them watch Trout do his postgame interviews. "I told them, 'Listen to him,'" Street said. "'Listen to how he talks to the media; listen to how humble he is.'"
  20. For some sadistic reason I want DJ to blow it again on Sunday with Spieth coming out on top....again.
  21. Tiger is getting hard to watch. I feel bad for him
  22. Not so fast http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=steroids&num=2 Investigative journalism linked the first PED's to Rose's Reds team and he and his local gym boy brought it into the clubhouse. The guy is complete scum. On a side note, that entire article is great.
