Yet, Trevor Bauer is still out of work, cleared of all charges.

Does Ozuna have a habit of pissing off his contemporaries to the extent that Bauer does?  I really don’t think with these types of cases the crimes (real or alleged) mean that much.  No one on the Browns seems to have an issue with being DeShaun Watson’s teammate.  The issue is entirely about weighing the potential value you bring to a team against the negative PR and locker room presence.  And it looks like with Bauer all 30 teams have decided the bad outweighs the good here

I don’t want the Angels to sign Bauer because I think he’s an annoying ass dude.  It’s perfectly reasonable to assume others share that perception of him and it outweighs whatever they think he will bring to their team.  Kinda reminds me of how the Penguins basically had no choice but to trade Phil Kessel despite him being a great player while they were contending because Malkin said they had to pick between him or Phil

I myself am transferring to Cal State Fullerton in the fall.  Applied for CSUDH, CSUF, Cal Poly Pomona, and CSULB and got accepted into all.  Going with Fullerton because they are known for their business school and are the closest to where I live

It's less about the players and more about the depth. Belt instead of Cron would be a fine option. 

 

I’m ignoring it because it has nothing to do with the decision to sign Cron or not.  The fact that your argument, just as it was when you were advocating for bringing back Moustakas in the offseason is that Cron isn’t some other guy is not a legitimate one.  Sano and Drury can replicate whatever production you’d expect from Cron in 2024.  Ditto for Leblanc in AAA.  To convince anyone that signing Cron would legitimately help the team you have to somehow make an argument that he’d genuinely be a better option than any of those guys.  The fact that you aren’t even attempting to do so shows you yourself don’t even believe it to be the case

So you’d prefer a guy who produced negative WAR last year, has serious back problems, and wasn’t picked up by any team to a guy who is starting slow but was a 2.7 win player in 125 games last year?

You haven’t made one argument for actually signing Cron or how he could help the team, all you have to say about him is that he’s not some other guy.  That should tell you he will do absolutely nothing to help this team
