We are really preparing for a 48 hour “weather war” up here in Big Bear. Massive amounts of sand has been delivered, culverts are being cleared for run off, batteries, candles and water are being scooped up, and gas for the generators is being filled at the gas stations. After the winter we had, people better not complain they weren’t given ample warning/notice that this was coming.

Honestly, Sierra Lakes is a pretty nice golf course. I’ve played there several times with no instances of gun waving lunatics around.

Me too @Biergott. He had a great and eclectic taste of music. We had many conversations over the years about music. Still in shock over the week we’ve had here on the forum.

As a guy who has seen destruction like this up close, in person, you never really grasp the scope of it. I remember being in the City of Paradise on a strike team, and standing in the middle of the city. Everything around me was gone. Nothing. I stood there thinking about all the history, livelihood, memories, and peoples whole lives were gone in a matter of hours. I think about all the great memories we’ve had in Maui and especially Lahaina, and I’m stunned and speechless. We were just there in November last year, and my wife and I were looking at pictures we took. It’s all that’s left. Just memories. stunning.
