Colin Morikawa had the most disappointing and boring round of the day. Nothing seemed to kick his butt into gear and force him to go for birdies. It was like he was completely content playing even par.
Normally Xander’s M.O. @Blarg.
Not today though

Thank you Xander. Thank you for denying Bryson but more than anything, thank you for getting that monkey off your back.
Way too close. Congrats

And so Xander’s saga begins.
A bogey to start the back 9 on a par 5 is absolutely sinful.

How great would it be if the feds talked to fletcher and he had info that Shoehei was betting?
Shohei Ohtani Day would still be recognized in Los Angeles, even if that happened.

Patrick Sandoval absolutely deserved better than this. I get it, his offense blows goats, but this bullpen sucks.
Looking at you Luis Garcia. For now

Boy, if JT could just make a few of those very makable putts he’s missing, he could be at least tied or maybe even up 1 by now.
His putter is killing him the last few holes.

Yeah, I may or may not have had a few drinks after my round of golf yesterday.
I apologize for my Tom Foolery.

Lowry can put so much beer into the Wanamaker trophy. I'm here for it.
When Lowry won the Claret Jug in 2019, his victory celebration was one for the ages, so the rumor was.
I’ll bet guys still are hung over from it, it was that epic.
He seems like a great guy, and a dude who his easy to root for.

Dallas just absolutely screwed by Toronto. That should have been the game winner in OT.

My coworker has a bunch of pants he got from Xander something or other (SIL knows the wife I guess), I’d never heard of the guy because I don’t follow golf but I guess he’s doing ok.
Yeah, he’s doing OK, @katie. He’s pretty good.

incorrect. as a former champion, he has a lifetime pass to play in the tournament every year. larry mize still plays, and he's about as relevant and competitive as me. same with ian woosnam and a few others.
So does Fred Couples, Bernard Langer, and Jose Maria Olazabol, to name a few more.
I think Tiger’s pride won’t let him play if he feels he can’t at least be competitive. He’ll be doing himself, and his legacy, a disservice. He doesn’t need to “hang out at Augusta” for a few free drinks and a Champions Dinner.
Like a said on the previous page, I feel he will continue to play until his body breaks down completely, which it seems is getting close. But to @Blargpoint, he’s not going to just show up and turn the clock back to 2001. He needs to get competitive rounds in and not just rounds with Charley. He simply can’t.

Woods is looking more like my game out there. Short wedge from the rough ends up in the front bunker. Thins the bunker shot and ends up in the rear bunker. Flops his shot well short of the hole and ends up with a triple on the #2 hole.
I'm going to ammend this. I probably would have three putt for a snowman.
Sitting in the clubhouse at San Juan Hills and watching with my buddies. We all said the same thing in regards to Tiger.
We’re wondering how much longer in this round before Tiger starts limping, or stretching before he withdraws this round?
Or does he gut it out and finish his round somewhere around +11 or 12?

Morikawa with 5 straight birdies on the back through 17. He is playing awesome in the soft, wet conditions.
This course sets up great for his game. He can be aggressive on these fairways with no roll as opposed to what he had at Augusta, which cost him.
He is going to be tough over the weekend.

He was going the same way as he was instructed to yesterday. What idoit “attaches” themselves to a moving vehicle?
As someone who has been around fatality pedestrian accidents, I can honestly tell you that it can be a chaotic scene, especially in the early stages. Throw in darkness and rain, and it makes it even more difficult. Now throw in a major sporting event, on a 2 or 4 lane single access/egress road and that’s even more chaos. I’m almost 100% certain these officers were trying to make sure no first responders were going to get hit by some impatient driver trying to get to the tournament.
By all accounts, it appears Scheffler drove around a stopped bus in traffic and drove on the wrong side of the road to get where he was going. Again, safety is paramount on these scenes, and I’m sure the cops were pissed about that and over reacted. It happens. Not saying it’s right, but it happens.
Now Scottie just has to go out win the tournament.

Sounds like the afternoon groups are going to get the benefit of the weather. Rain is not forecast for the afternoon.
No excuses Xander. Looking for Rory and Finau to go low today.

This is nuts. Tonight there was a free Ohtani bobblehead at the Dodgers game. There was a massive line 3 hours before the gates opened and the eBay auctions are already approaching $1200!
By comparison, the Ohtani Angels bobbleheads sell between $50-$240.
There is a VERY sought after Bo Jackson bobblehead breaking a bat over his head. It's hard to find a seller and it will sell for about $300. I'm probably in the top 1% of bobblehead collectors in the country and I can't justify that expense for the Jackson bobblehead (and I really want it).
It sounds like this one is one of only 700 they made in the “road gray” uniform. Thats why the seller is charging more for it. I’m surprised the guy/gal who got this bobblehead actually made it out of the stadium alive.
I only know this because I just saw the story on the news this morning.

I’d say Patrick Cantlay. An argument could be made for Viktor Hovland or Tony Finau also.
