  1. No one will say exclusive because anyone talking about it is full of shit. Just their cute way of saying "disclaimer in case i'm way off". But yeah, i'm a tad hopeful too.
  2. Those guys should perform better than their freshman year. That's the whole idea behind player development and adjusting to the league. If anything they needed a freshman 15....
  3. Seems like anyone could have confirmed that. Surprised he didn't list the Giants either. It really boils down to the Angels and Dodgers. Dodgers can offer money and win-now team Angels can offer money and comfort. Something i've been thinking about would be the idea of Arte swooping in and telling Ohtani he will spend for additional help like Yamomoto and/or others. Plus trades. There has to be a reason they didn't want to trade him and Arte took back the team. I wouldn't be shocked if he comes back home. The other part of me hopes Ohtani feels like he owes it to the Angels in a small form. They let him do whatever he wanted and his injuries definitely hasn't helped the team. Part of their failures is on him is a small way. (This will trigger some people).
  4. Ohtani news this week before the Winter Meetings?.... Or nah?
  5. But imagine the Angels signing Ohtani and then doing other things to make the playoffs? That would be a fun as hell type story. Imagine the Dodgers whiffing on Ohtani and Yamomoto. A guy can dream.....
  6. haha yeah you're right. I'm just going to stay "Aggressive" all offseason for fun because I think this will be a tough one for the Angels. Just going to have some fun with it.
  7. Wasn't Kikuchi at a Ducks game and then signed with the Mariners? At this point, it's just a basketball game and that's all.
  8. This one was actually very tough to think about. I'll go with the "F-it response" Who do you think will be the Angels first MLB free agent signing this off-season? Shohei Ohtani. Before winter meetings. This is why they haven't been "aggressive" yet. They want to get Ohtani done and build around it. Who will be the biggest name free agent they sign this off season? Ohtani for FA..... another top SP via trade. I'm prepared for a dumpster fire season, however....
  9. Define aggressive...... $500M to Ohtani Aggressive? Miss out on Ohtani and spend $500M for various areas aggressive? Or (3) 1yr deals aggressive? I've heard them say aggressive before and it hasn't worked out.
  10. Either Perry is being hush hush.... but he seemed like he knew Ohtani is gone haha
  11. Love his passion, reminds me of Maddon and his "Angels way" mentality. Hope it works out. Also.... it took the press 2 questions to bring up the race card. Jesus.
  12. He did a good job by listening, but my gut tells me he thinks he made a mistake doing it while watching Turner tear in up in the postseason and the Angels miss the playoffs.
  13. I love this idea, I really do. And I fully endorse it.... But this scenario is the kind where you present this to Perry in the WAR room with Arte sitting in the corner and when he hears this he jumps up saying " no no no, we don't need to rebuild, we're so close to winning I just need to spend $200+M on a 31+ year old"
  14. No Matter what happens, I just hope our fanbase is prepared to only receive a comp pick after all of this. To me, that will be the biggest blow to this organization. I'm iffy on spending $50M+ on a guy, but Jesus they had 2 chances to rebuild their organization and shit on themselves both times. My gut feeling: Angels and Arte Moreno offer stupid money to do anything they can to keep him, miss out on the Ohtani sweepstakes and then Arte announces sometime this year that he is ready to sell. Like i've said all along, this is Arte's last "F-You" to the fans.
  15. This team carries a TON of baggage so a little more won't hurt.
  16. Just bring back Scioscia at this point. He's younger than Buck and Ron. This team hasn't been the same since he left.
