  1. Bourjos couldn't hit his way out of a wet paper bag. I say it will be either Parker, Hermosillo or a player to be signed later.
  2. Nothing wrong with a little competition for the younger guys. Sign him. Bring him to Spring Training. If he performs good enough to win the 2b or 3b job, send the youngsters to Triple A. If he stinks up the joint then release him.
  3. So the Angels made competitive offers for two of the better SP's out there. Who might they be targeting now and would they allocate the money towards a position player if they can't sign the Pitcher(s) they want?
  4. Well with nothing being done really, there tends to be whining and complaining. Hell give us something to stop the whining and complaining.
  5. I was really hoping Eppler would surprise us all with some unexpected coup but now all we are getting is confusing football analogies and second rate signings/trades. Does he really think this will appease Mr. Trout?
  6. Does anybody else think that Eppler is like the kid who gets picked last when picking teams? Nobody likes what he has to offer?
  7. What they need to do is bump up the budget to around $185 million. What the Angels will probably do is keep it between $165- $170 million. Eppler has already stated that he expects the young players to provide the boost in offense by being better next year so I guess that means they'll be looking strictly at pitchers to sign this off season. I personally don't think that the approach they should be taking when their best player might want to leave in two years.
  8. Imo, the Angels don't really have very many trade chips, except the obvious ones and prospects. I would think they would be asking for prospects for any player they are looking to move and use any money freed up to sign some free agents.
  9. Just curious, who are your starters around the infield?
  10. At the very least Spangenberg would be a better hitting utility guy than Cowart. He hits righties at a pretty good clip and could fill in if the young guys are struggling.
  11. I'm not sold on Cozart. He had a good year with the bat in 2017 and that is his only year he produced offensively.
  12. Please enlighten us who these 3-4 better options are....
  13. Could Eppler be waiting to see whom other clubs non-tender before he makes any significant moves?
  14. Missing the playoffs and watching the Dodgers make it to the world series two years in a row doesn't help his bottom line. Take the Rams for example. You couldn't give away their tickets two years ago. Now they're a hot commodity because people love winners.
  15. This is great news. Now they have another minor leaguer who can't find the strike zone?
  16. Well that's good to know because I've tried posting on another Angel's board and all it seemed to be was a complete circle jerk of Angel's fans who knew everything.....what do you want on your sandwich?
  17. Depending on where the opt out year is then I guess I see your point.
  18. if he makes less money on the back end, he would benefit from opting out What am I missing?
  19. Back loaded....Agreement or arrangement in which the heavier charges are levied, or greater benefits accrue, towards the end of its duration or term. Opposite of front Loaded.
  20. Yeah most likely but he would have to be an idiot to opt out then wouldn't he?
