  1. Anybody else getting that feeling that the Angels are going to get shutout in their attempts to sign their "ace"?
  2. Mike Trout just signed an extension for a boat load of cash so he must have faith in the direction the Angels are headed. After all these years you're ready to jump ship? After all these years I'm excited that the Angels have an owner who is willing to open his check book and a farm system that's on the rise. Good times are coming but if the Yankees look more appealing then by all means jump on that bandwagon.
  3. If this takes them out of the Cole sweepstakes it's a big No!!. Rather have Cole than any of the players Boston would be sending. Betts would be nice but it would be a 1 year rental. Both Price and Eovoldi seem to have health issues. Maybe flipping Eovaldi if possible.
  4. A savings of $90 million still if the Sox take Upton. I know this whole trade scenario is absurd that's why I said let's have some fun with it and play along with some proposed players to send Boston's way.
  5. Let's have some fun with this since it's been a slow off-season for the Angels... https://nypost.com/2019/11/30/red-sox-among-teams-under-pressure-for-hot-stove-splash/ Upton would assuredly have to be part of the package along with Cozart. Now what prospects would the Angels have to send? No Adell or Marsh.
  6. Can't they reach an agreement on a contract before he goes to arbitration? The amount 10 million is only a projection right?
  7. Sure. Try to work out a more team friendly deal with his agent. If they can't reach an agreement cut him loose. Dude killed the Angels in Anaheim late July.
  8. Neither one has done chit in the majors. If you wait another season, the outcome may not be to the Angels liking. Trade whom ever will bring back the most in return which is Marsh
  9. You got to factor in what other teams have to offer. I'm sure there would be better than what you are offering.
  10. Black refers to the color of his skin not which country he's from.
  11. If the Angels fail to sign Cole or Stras then maybe signing Wheeler, Ryu and trading for a starter(Boyd, Ray etc.) is the way to go. A staff of Wheeler, Ryu, Ohtani, Boyd, Heaney and Canning should be light years better than last year. It would look a lot better if Cole was their number 1 though.
  12. Ryu to Angels probable? https://dodgerblue.com/mlb-free-agency-rumors-hyun-jin-ryu-preference-re-sign-dodgers-but-angels-could-become-probable/2019/11/17/
  13. Harper's wife is Mormon. There are more Mormons in the State of California than any other State. Plus the Angels Triple A squad is in Salt Lake City, the Mecca of Mormonism.?
  14. SLC would be more of a learn how to win when you know you're not going to have your best stuff.
  15. With that thinking, any pitcher who has had success in SLC, should be dominant when called to Anaheim but somehow it hasn't worked out that way.
  16. Hey I don't like it anymore than you do but they have agents for a reason. Everybody knows that Boras likes to drag things out and maybe Machado's agent is waiting to see what Harper signs for to get a better idea what he can get for his client. Really I don't care because neither one will be playing for the Angels anytime soon.
  17. He rejected 4/60?....I hope it's because he didn't want to play for the Mets and not because he thinks he can get more money or years. I guess there might be some sucker but I sure hope it's not the Angels.
  18. Unless he's cheap and I mean really cheap, I still prefer Tulo at the league minimum.. The only thing I like more about Harrison is his versatility. He can play the outfield and might save the Angels from having Peter Bourjos as the 4th outfielder.
  19. Why not Ohtani? He's got better than average wheels and had an OBP% of .361. I'd rather have his bat in the middle of the order but the Angels don't really have a lead-off guy. If Calhoun or Fletcher start off the season on fire then they could move them to the top of the order.
  20. Not a good career move. Pitching in those AL East parks is not going to go well for him.
  21. I agree. It's going to be bombs away at home.
