What Adell needs to realize is he has SO MUCH power that he doesn't need to swing the bat so godamned hard, and his swing doesn't need to be so big and long, he just needs to make contact and good things will happen.
I think he's realized that more than ever so far this season, so I'm not too worried about 1 game.
As for the rest of the team, the striking out with a RISP and less than 2 outs absolutely kills us, it needs to be drilled into these guys' heads that contact absolutely has to be made.
And that doesn't mean going up there ready to swing at the first pitch no matter where it's thrown, it means you go up to the plate with a plan, waiting until the pitcher makes a mistake and gives you something you can hit. It's just so obvious some of these guys are ready to swing before the pitch is thrown, and of course pitchers can smell that a mile away.
This team has struggled with productive outs for a decade now, and their record has reflected that.
A sacrifice fly seems like such an oddity at this point, I'm actually shocked when they pull one off.

Reminds me of back in the good 'ol days...my buddies and I would decide to go 30 mins before the game started. We'd spend less than $10 to get in for the 4 of us (after fees), $5 parking in the commercial building lot, walk up through the stadium parking lot chugging tall boys, and be sitting in our seats as the first pitch was thrown.
Oh, then we got to see a guy like Weaver or the dude below deal like a mother.
    Fuggi less pish.

    Score seven, give up nine.
    Give up two, score once.

Dude had 3 k's before his last at bat.
Wash just said he told him to just make contact and hit to the big part of the field.
I don't mind the micro-managing to be honest. We've kinda needed it for the guys these past couple years, cause they ain't figuring it out on their own. No better guy to do it than Wash.

You're right...so far so, it's almost facing the pitcher when he's loading to swing.
My favorite way to alleviate that problem was to get my hands back as far as possible towards the backstop, and hold the bat as vertical as I could.
That way there was no (or minimal) load, and my only movement was *down* to the ball. Seemed to shorten and speed up my swing.

Had it not been a former angel with the game on the line, we would have lost.

Even when the Astros get their karma, we still manage to screw up.  There's a thing called talent.  They don't have it.

Guess what blew my mind yesterday? Seeing Fletcher show up in the 9th inning wearing a Braves uniform. Talk about a blessing in disguise for that dude.
The org, the team on TV tries to sugarcoat it so much, but "Sell" flags should be in red rather than green much sooner than later.

CaliAngel got a reaction from SlappyUtilityMIF in Sandoval? What to do with him?
You can see that Sandoval puts a lot of pressure on himself to succeed.
His drive is there, but when it doesn't go his way he beats the hell out of himself.
Last game he was constantly in his head, especially when outs turn into errors.
He needs to trust his pitches. And when it goes wrong, he can't beat himself up. I can't think of a guy who's pitching right now that I want to succeed more than him.
He's there. He's got it. He needs a 1 degree tweak in his mental game and then he is gold.
