Speaking of hurt butts; YES, the Yankees are a pain in the ass.

Anyone see the ump at the beer stand between innings?

Thus far, the pen in looking really good all around. Props to Eppler for what could be a strength this season.

The Celtics look pretty good.

Has any batter ever struck out 300 times in one season? Maybe we're watching history happen?

Hopefully a sign of things to come. For both, lol.

I think Bridwell will be the worst AND be the biggest disappointment.
This is how I voted as well. Reality is about to kick him in the nether region.
Richards will finally show us what he is about and become a true Ace.
Tropeano will come into his own.
Ohtani will get better and better as the season goes on.
Who the hell knows what Skaggs will do.

The Rays cut Jennings. Hard thrower. He could be a valuable addition to our pen.

Not saying that Pujols cheated back in the day or something but those Bonds' drugs would no doubt make Pujols a great hitter/player again.
I wouldn't be opposed to his trying something.

I'm hoping that one day MLB will recognize what a truly great player Bonds was. He will always be the poster boy of the steroid era, but underneath all that stuff was one of the all-time greats.

Here's a variant question: Who is the oldest player you remember seeing play (on TV is fine)?
I can remember Yaz in the early 80s, who is now 78 years old.
I think we will see fewer aging players going forward. It seems like there is a strong trend for teams to go with younger and cheaper talent.

Quick, let's trade him while his value is high.

I'm trying to figure out where you could be that SLC is north and LA is south.
Do you know of a place where SLC would be south and LA north?

Are there any colored people on this board?
I think I'm old enough now to get away with asking that.
Due to having geese as pets, I tend to get purple/green bruises on my arms. Do those count as colors?

Nope, he hasn't changed my mind a bit. Kinsler is the type of player that feeds both into and off of his team. The atmosphere he was exposed to last season, being on a nothing team with a loser attitude, was a big part of why he had a down year. I fully expect a return to his career norms and for him to be a big part of a winning and successful season.

A lot of MLB superstar players have had a bad year in their career where you just can't figure out the reason for is.
Frank Thomas wasn't good by his standards in 1998, McCutchen had a tough year in 2016, Felix Hernandez did poorly by his great standards in 2015 and even Miggy had a bad year last season.
Trout's going to have one of those years where you wonder what happen to his elite hitting skills. He's not always going to be the great player that we have known for so many years, now. It's just a matter of "when", not "if". If he does have a bad year this year, by his standards, by putting up an OPS of about .800, then the Angels will need someone else to step up their game even more. Possibly Upton and he's shown that he can have a great year before in his career.

This is a well rounded and versatile team. To say we can't make it to the playoffs without any one particular player is selling the rest of the players a little short.

jose just reported Ohtani fastball 97-98 mph, with a fantastic curve ball.
MLB network showed some of his pitches today and said it looked like he was throwing a wiffle ball, and indeed it did. I've never seen such crisp late movement. This dude has Ace stamped on his forehead.

That one's easy. "Make up you mind while in the on-deck circle that you are going to swing at every pitch regardless."
