  1. Yohandy Morales, 3B, Miami Morales is a quality college performer who hits for above-average power to all fields. Defensively, Morales has the skills and arm strength to remain at third base.
  2. The Sporting News Edward Sutelan 06-24-2023 11. Los Angeles Angels Nolan Schanuel, 1B, Florida Atlantic Going back to 2014, the Angels have selected college players with seven of nine picks. As was evidenced with last year's pick of Zach Neto, who is already in Los Angeles as the starting shortstop, the Angels don't mind getting a guy to the big leagues quickly if he's ready. Nolan Schanuel has the advanced approach that could allow him to adjust to the minors well, and the power to be an impactful talent (he was second among Division I players with a .868 slugging percentage). He's likely limited to first base or the corner outfield, but his bat will play anywhere he's positioned.
  3. Aidan Miller, 3B, Mitchell HS, New Port Richey, Fla. (No. 12) Miller raked throughout the showcase circuit last summer and could be one of the steals of the first round after his stock slipped because he missed almost all of the spring with a hamate injury.
  4. Trout signed a baseball for me when he was a Quake. I have the ticket for that game too. Is that worth anything?
  5. Will Taylor Ward make a smooth transition to left field from right field?
  6. Perhaps right-hander Zach Thompson who has been designated for assignment.
  7. Who heard of David Eckstein before the Angels gave him a chance at starting shortstop. Give Livan Soto a chance at shortstop.
  8. What's the last few comments have to do with Livan Soto? Livan should be the starting shortstop for the Angels for 2023 and beyond.
  9. I am bullish on Livan Soto, he will be the starting short stop. David Eckstein came out of nowhere and became the Angels starting short stop and so did Andrew Velazquez.
  10. Seeing a Jackie Bradley Jr. in Marsh, good defense and maybe a few good hitting years.
  11. At t he time of their draft, Moniak was rated a better prospect than Marsh. Moniak rated a first round draft pick, not #1 though. Marsh had back issues and signed late with the Angels and rated a late first round pick or later.
  12. Who knows Mickey Moniak may be the next Rex Hudler.
  13. David Calabrese looks good in center field for the 66ers. He is young for the league. If he can hit MLB pitching he is Kenny Lofton if not Peter Bourjos. He makes hard contact.
  14. https://vanderbilthustler.com/2022/07/22/tate-kolwyck-signs-with-los-angeles-angels-after-going-undrafted-in-2022-mlb-draft/
  15. Shitty food, sleep, and stress might not hit them the same or in the moment but it still takes a toll, even if they don’t realize it. If you choose wisely you can eat on the cheap and it will not be shitty food. The coaches should explain this to the players. Sleep and stress effects everybody differently.
  16. When you are 20 years old or so you can put up with a lot of guff. The majority of the players drafted received 6 figure or more signing bonuses. The players know that minor league life is not good and it is the stepping stones to the majors.. But the players dream that they will be the next star player. That is the life they chose. Some of them will succeed and become multi-millionaires and the majority will not. That is true for all performance based business. But in the sports/entertainment business you have people rooting for you to succeed.
