Yeah I'm getting sick of listening to the talking heads on ESPN radio and the like discussing this. Listening this morning they were going through trade scenarios endlessly. Pretty much everyone agreed you don't trade a generational player of his caliber.
They even mentioned they wouldn't do it even if someone took on Pujols and his contract and got major league talent + top minor league talent. They kept saying to the Cubs for Schwarber (if not hurt), Kris Bryant, another Major league starter and top minor league pitching talent. I'd never pull the trigger on trading him.
That deal with the Cubs sounds good to me.

You will be where some of us are eventually, maybe not until Aug/Sep, but you'll be joining the rest of us soon enough and we'll keep your seats warm for ya!

Deuces!

So wait, this was before we signed him 5 years ago? The team knew this and still gave him that fabulous contract?
-
Chacin for Calhoun, sounds about right.

The plus side to all this...Scioscia has to be a goner at the end of the year...FINALLY! (whether it be his choice or Arte's, who cares?)

Mark Bowman looks like he already ate the PTBNL, so Atlanta isn't getting a thing for Chacin.
Duuuuude, my screen is covered in coffee now, thanks, LOL!

You do not call it quits and rebuild on May 11th, EVER, under any circumstances.
Injuries to the starting pitching and the offense sucking is the reason this team is where they're at.
I don't agree at all, even with a healthy pitching staff and an offense that's clicking this roster still has "80 wins" (max) written all over it. Even if we somehow pick it up and sneak into the playoffs...do you honestly believe we can beat anyone? My main point is, why bother trading for Ryan and Chacin when you can just give Pennington the job and call-up a Nate Smith or let Rasmus start? It just seems pointless when we could have saved $$$ and given some of the kids a shot, total fu**ing headscrather, then again...I haven't understood anything this organization has done since 2002, LMAO!

So they are trying to patch holes so they can finish with 70 wins instead of 65 ? What for ?
Does the team really want to become the NJ Devils ?

I'm really pissed right now, this franchise is frustrating the Hell outta me, these latest moves (Ryan / Chacin) make Z-E-R-O sense! Why aren't they ust playing the minor leaguers? It's cheaper and it gives us a chance to see what (if anything) they got. It's almost as if the team is just making these stupid little useless moves to keep the appearance up that they're actually "trying." It's time to do what we all know is right: BLOW IT UP AND REBUILD AROUND TROUT!
-
I love how some of y'all are acting like our poor performance is a surprise, LOL!
-
WHY ARE THEY BOTHERING TO DO ANYTHING AT ALL? JUST FU**ING GIVE UP ALREADY, PACK IT IN, PLAY THE KIDS, WE HAVE ZERO CHANCE THIS YEAR!!!!!!!
-
Why? Why did we even bother? Just...why?
-
Sigh....

I hate that damn midget! (Rosenthal)

I say we let Giavotella pitch, that'd be funny!

Pennington will be the starting SS now, I guess? Ugh. (Not that Simmons was much fun to watch so far this year, either...)
