I don't really care if people say, "Arte doesn't care." This is what I mean when I say the team is directionless. Why do we have to do a "masked" rebuild? Why not just do one?
The most telling part to me, the way I know without a doubt Arte is exactly as I imagine him, is that Trout is constantly going to him and telling him to sign guys. Don't you think Arte would say, "Mike we're taking it easy this year. Not going to spend." The fact that Trout keeps going to him tells me that Arte isn't telling him the direction of the team. And look, I'm a loser fan on my computer. Trout is the franchise's greatest player ever. And Arte isn't telling HIM the direction of the team? And please don't tell me that he is, Mike would make these public statements and tell Heyman the quotes he did unless he too thought they would go after good players. This, to me, is what makes him baseball's worst owner: not even the franchise GOAT knows what the direction of the team is, to the point that he is now, for the first time ever, putting public pressure on the owner to sign players. And still no response from the owner and no moves made. Not a single move made since signing...Hicks?
These are the times I wish this was the Yankees. I'd love for local media to ask Perry why he spent only on the bullpen. And I'd love a follow up with Mike about how happy he is with the offseason. We know our owner won't ever share with the fans what's going on.

Looks like you’re handling the Lorenzen news well.

Spending your entire budget on the bullpen seems rather nonsensical to me.

He had a bad spring before that outing. It was 375 mill for Yamamoto 50 mill posting fee. Ohtani says he will pitch better but I say do not BET on it.

Sir, this is AngelsWin.com. Are you not aware of our tendencies?

It was his first ever ML game so we will se how he adjusts but it’s too early to jump to that conclusion. FWIW, I hope he and Ohtani are complete busts for the Dodgers and that their contracts hamper them for years.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted at whatever the fuck direction this team is going in.

Looks like Arte literally just told Minasian to stop signing guys.
Cool.

Apparently "Arte wants to win" but is unwilling to do what it takes to win.

I always thought the Dodgers took a big gamble on giving Yamamoto a 12 year contract. That's too risky for a pitcher.

Word is Snell wants an opt out after every game.

I am trying to visualize his staff meetings...
Arte: "John what are they saying on AW?"
Carpino: "BTH thinks Perry is throwing a Hail Mary."
Hmmm.

You think Arte is aware of fan reaction online?
And fans saying "they aren't going to games" can be substantiated or not by ticket sales.
I think you're reaching.

If Snell will only sign long term deal, move on then.
See what they have with the current 5 starters this season, then do whatever it takes to sign Burnes next off-season. There’s absolutely nothing to not like there. Durability, averaging 6 innings/start since 2021, low WHIP, high Ks/BBs ratio, grew up a Halos fan

Baseball needs a signing period. Starts 7 days after the Workd Series and ends the day pitchers and catchers report. Any contract after that can only be a 1 year deal with a modest cap to the amount.

The 2017 Red Sox did before David Price got hurt. The 2015 White Sox did for most of the season. 1983 Yankees. I'm sure it's been done other times, too.

if you sign snell this year, then next year you can go to burnes and show him you're committed to winning, and by having both him and snell at the top of the rotation, they'll be a formidable 1-2 punch.
at least that's how i'd do it.
if it costs me one draft pick but i get both of those pitchers, i'm all in.
