What has happened to the Angels this year shouldn't happen to your worst enemy. 10 players on the disabled list, 5 pitchers (4 starters, 1 reliever,) 2 platooning left fielders, their starting and backup shortstops and their starting catcher. These are all top line players who were counted on to be a huge part of what was expected to be a highly successful season. None of them are scrubbs. No other team in memory has lost their No.1 (Garrett Richards) and No. 2 (Andrew Heaney) starting pitchers less than one month into the season. Their set-up man, Joe Smith, an extremely valuable member of the bullpen, is injured. Their are huge voids that haven't been filled effectively in left field and at shortstop. They've had to promote a minor league catcher to back up their projected backup catcher. It's amazing that they've even been able to field a team!
