  1. If his glove is as steady as his bat has been, I'm all in.
  2. Unfortunately for the Angels, the Dodgers weren't dumb enough to do it last summer.
  3. Ridiculous question. What are you smokin?
  4. The American League counts total tickets sold regardless. The National League counts only those people actually in attendance. Go figure.
  5. Absolutely not. This is a major league record, not an international record. Ichiro had 1278 hits during his 9 years in Japan. If Rose had played In 9 years in Japan he would have had an additional 1746 hits. It's ludicrous!
  6. Seeing is believing. Until I see Skaggs on the mound I won't believe that he'll ever pitch again. .
  7. That was the last time the Angels were 10 games under .500. Their record: 11-21. They finished that season with a record of 78-84. That was good enough for third place in the division, 18 games behind AL West winner Oakland.
  8. Devastating. Way too young to be take from this world. She had her whole life in front of her. My prayers are with the family!
  9. Granted it is generally considered the worst in major league baseball.
  10. Better chance of that happening than somebody exceeding Pete Rose's hit total (4256) or Nolan Ryan's strikeout total (5714).
  11. That it's just a bruise is a big break for the Angels!
  12. Weaver won't be back next year unless he agrees to a huge slice in his salary. It's all about what have you done for me lately.
  13. The Angels will stand pat at the trade deadline. If they can get healthy in the next 5-6 weeks they'll still have time to make things interesting.
  14. What has happened to the Angels this year shouldn't happen to your worst enemy. 10 players on the disabled list, 5 pitchers (4 starters, 1 reliever,) 2 platooning left fielders, their starting and backup shortstops and their starting catcher. These are all top line players who were counted on to be a huge part of what was expected to be a highly successful season. None of them are scrubbs. No other team in memory has lost their No.1 (Garrett Richards) and No. 2 (Andrew Heaney) starting pitchers less than one month into the season. Their set-up man, Joe Smith, an extremely valuable member of the bullpen, is injured. Their are huge voids that haven't been filled effectively in left field and at shortstop. They've had to promote a minor league catcher to back up their projected backup catcher. It's amazing that they've even been able to field a team!
  15. 11 games out and it's only June 9. All the Angels have to do is go 64-38 to get to 90 wins. And that should get them into the playoffs!
