if mike trout wanted 400 million dollars, then i would trade him. right now for the insane haul that he would bring. that amount of money on one player is stupid.

for you guys saying that santiago is going to be in the rotation and skaggs will be in AAA, as if it's a forgone conclusion. dipoto said himself and santiago reiterated that the plan was for him to pitch both out of the rotation and in the bullpen, as needed. dipoto also said that skaggs had proven himself in a smattering of experience between the minors and mlb and that it was time for him to take a spot in the rotation.

in my mind, realistically, taking steroids is a greater offense than a dui. i understand that in life a dui has far more serious implications, but try to understand the complexity of the topic.
 
cheating at baseball is a fundamental violation of the spirit of competition. dui's are serious and potentially deadly, but they have also systematically evolved into a means of income for municipalities rather than a service of public safety. how many of us don't know many people with dui's? his came at 19 and 27, i think. should he have learned the first time? i'd say yes, but is it an indictment of poor moral character? i'd say no. i'd say he made a pretty dumb mistake that MANY upstanding citizens continue to make on a nightly basis. i think we should save the moral turpitude for someone more deserving, like say a bartolo colon.

obviously, the twitter thing was stupid, but i think twitter is stupid anyway and would ban any of my players being on it if i was a gm, because nothing good has ever come of it athletically.

i'm very disheartened by dipoto's body of work now. i've, easily, been an ardent supporter, but i'm just not getting it anymore. this is a stupid trade, an incredibly stupid trade.
 
i really thought he was the one who was going to stop all the moronic operations the angels had in place, but he's not only continued it, but now made it worse. he's lost my support. if i were a board member, i'd be calling for a vote of no confidence. what a shame, i really thought he was the next friedman type.

i've been accused of being a superfan myself, and i couldn't agree with jshep or tdawg more. this organization is in a tailspin and dipoto is making it worse. i've lost all faith in him totally. if being a fan were simply rooting for any team you want, which i guess is theoretically possible, i'd be jocking for the cardinals easily. they do everything that i want the angels to do, a.l.w.a.y.s.
