  1. Bucs, ravens and packers all lose to go to 3-3 which currently puts 10 teams at 3-3.  The giants continue to find ways to win while their 5 wins have come by an average of 4 points.  Mahomes with an uncharacteristically bad throw on KC's final drive of the game puts Buffalo in the driver's seat in the AFC for the 1 seed.  Philly and Dallas for the night cap in what has been the NFL's best division so far.

Dude -- I pretty much stopped using everything else.

This. I was at a buddy’s house and he used one to re heat fries that came out better and quicker than an oven. I bought one the next day for under $50. There’s only two of us so we didn’t need a massive one.  It’s been a game changer and now I wonder how we got by before.

  3. Tua carted off before halftime after getting sacked and landing on his back then head. His fingers were rigid and bent looking like he had horrible arthritis. Hopefully this wasn’t something from last weeks injury that lingered but doesn’t matter.  Hoping it’s nothing long term or serious.

  4. Two games left in week 3 and there’s only two undefeated teams left in Miami and Philly both of which are beatable. Both Buffalo and KC lost and neither offense looked dominant. The Raiders are 0-3 and McDaniels has to be in the hot seat which is awesome. I’m trying to figure out why an injured Herbert was still in the game down 38-10 but then I remembered it’s the chargers. I realize Tampa was without Evans, Godwin and Jones among others but their offense has not looked good at any point this season. Not expecting much out of Denver tonight but hopefully they show something on offense.

was that the clown in the steelers game? his was too close to call, also.

if i'm a coach, i would be beyond furious if one of my players did that and cost us points/the game.

That’s exactly who it was couldn’t remember who until you said it. It was Agholor who made a great catch that almost turned into a monumentally stupid play.

true, but that idiot for the cards who returned the fumble almost threw the ball away before crossing the goal line.

I actually edited my post to include that as they went to review it. A receiver in a game earlier today did the same thing. It wasn’t as close but it was just over the goal line.  If players continue to do it someone is eventually going to do it before crossing the goal line.

  7. Raiders lose in spectacular fashion in OT fumbling the ball away almost in FG range and AZ took it to the house. The defender threw or dropped the ball shortly after crossing goal line which is the second time I’ve seen that today and it was way too close to being a fumble. Raiders were up 23-7 to start the 4th quarter.

  8. Some good games this morning. Jets scored 2 TDs in the final two minutes the second one which was after recovering an onside kick to beat the browns. Dolphins we’re down 35-14 going into the fourth quarter and they ended up beating the ravens 42-38 while Tua threw for over 400 yards and 6 TDs.

So far in the afternoon games Cincy looks worse than last week against a backup QB in Dallas but I expect them to make a game of it.  Denver’s pass game looks non existent while they’re tied starting the second half against Houston. Both Jeudy and Surtain have been ruled out with injuries. Lance got carted off the field with his ankle/leg in an air cast so guessing it’s broken. Garappolo looks better than Lance did in his limited action this year.

Books any good?  I have a Kobo and a library card, so it wouldn't cost me anything.  I did like Goodkinds Sword of Truth series if that helps.

I’ll echo what Angelsjunky said about the books. I read the first 6 and then to me they got kind of repetitive especially the main character’s development. I know they ended up wrapping it up so it comes full circle it just started to drag for me. I love reading so if a series is 5 or 50 books if the pacing is good I’m all for it but if I lose interest after so many books I rarely go back.

  10. 2021 saw quadruple the number of encounters along the southern border from 2020.  Seems the previous policies and stance were more effective. Most the people coming won’t legitimately qualify for asylum and more and more aren’t Mexican citizens as they’re from other countries. Hold Mexico accountable, do a better job securing the border, don’t let people game the asylum system and finally go after employers who hire people not legally allowed to work here. Both sides have long used this topic and the people coming here illegally for their own agenda.  The current admin had no plan other than to roll back what the prior admin had done and it’s backfired spectacularly.

Has anyone watched Wheel of Time on Prime?  Any good?  Watchable if you didn't read the books?  Should I read the books?

There's 15 books the first of which came out in 1990 while the original author Robert Jordan died in 2007 and another fantasy author Brandon Sanderson who was a fan finished the series.   So unlike Game of Thrones the book series was completed before the show and the source material is there for anyone to read if you want but again it's 15 books.  If you read even just the first book and watch the series like many adaptations they made changes one of which was pretty annoying as it went against a basic principle in the books.  If you enjoy fantasy books/shows/movies there's worse ways to pass the time but it's definitely not GoT or LOTR (movies) level or anywhere near it.

  12. The plan was shit and statistically nothing supported going for the FG there.  Whether they got to the 46, 45, 44, 43 or 42 the odds say they should have gone for the first down and not the kick over 60 yards.  Seattle did enough to win but the Broncos absolutely lost that game between the 2 fumbles on the 1, the penalties and the play calling at the end of the game.

Hoping for a good game tonight as it definitely is on paper but Thursday games always seem to be a crapshoot with the short rest.

  13. Snydergaard was gone after the season so his performance or long term value for an Angels team that wasn't going to make the playoffs is irrelevant.  Hopefully the change of scenery for Moniak is what he needed.  If O'Hoppe ever makes the majors and especially if he sticks as a C who can hit then that's an absolute win for the Angels.  As jsnpritchett said the only way the Angels really lose is if Marsh becomes a star or better and Moniak/O'Hoppe/Sanchez are non factors.

  14. 4 red zone trips that resulted in 6 points.  12 penalties for 106 yards 2 of which were false starts on a lineman who had 2 all of last season.  Then as PattyD22 mentioned over a minute left and they let the play clock run down before using their first time out.  Terrible all around and they deserved to lose but I'd rather see them going for it on the 4th down and losing there if they come up short.  Not a loss they could afford in the AFC West.
