I spoke to my dog who's a Johns Hopkins-educated doctor and he said it was caused by striking out looking on a high fastball. 

It was likely either:
1. The steals / base-running
2. The at-bats
3. The outfielding
Obvious conclusion from Swordsman is we have Trout do none of those things, so we can keep him healthy.

No GM will be able to maximize their potential under Arte.   It'll be business as usual at the deadline when they trade away a few guys for players who have lesser talent because they are closer to being major league ready.  
It appears that Perry has done some nice things from an infrastructure standpoint and there's a decent core in place at the major league level.  
He has been, however, quite bad at two pretty fundamental things that he's certainly had a fair amount of control over.  The bullpen and defense.  Both have been pretty awful and both are things that even with questionable limitations and control, should be a lot better.  
The bullpen in particular has been consistently terrible during his tenure and he's actually done a decent amount of spending in that area.  
I kinda view this as a litmus of his ability.  Like asking a chef to make you an omelet.  

Yawn. Looking very forward to the day he's not an Angel anymore. What a complete disaster FA signing.

...and Angels were 3rd worst in ERA last year. The Rays have 6 guys back there who had a 3.00 ERA or lower last year. And then Kevin Kelly had a 3.09. 7 guys who would have been the Angels best reliever last year. To try to find a flaw in the idea that the Rays (good bullpen) out-bullpen'ed the Angels (bad bullpen) in an extra innings game is just crazy. 
It just blows my mind that your idea of entertainment is coming on here and just posting the dumbest shit imaginable in response to other people's thought out and statistically backed takes. I guess maybe you're trolling and that's fun. I don't know, I'm putting you on my ignore list.

They're not correct because you don't like them. That's where we aren't seeing eye to eye and why you think I'm combative. You might think you're hot shit because you've been here for awhile or think you have friends here, but its an internet forum, and I'm here to talk baseball, not snip at people and try to win internet points. 

Hopefully he writes the sequel to Treasure Island while he's shut down.

He has a carer 3.90 ERA. That one fluke year does not define him as the pitcher he is now. Last year and this he isn't even a #3 value pitcher. 

Trout is just not clutch. 

RISP and they turn into fucking idiots. Same shit. Every fucking year.

That has been the knock on Trout for most of his career. Great player otherwise, but he had never been known to be particularly clutch in these situations. That will keep him from being mentioned with the all-time greats. That is certainly an area where Torri Hunter far out performed Trout. 

Trout fails every single time.

I know Trout has had some clutch moments in his career. But for all the shit people give the Angels for wasting Trout’s prime with only one post season appearance, you have to recognize Trout holds some of that responsibility himself. I don’t blame him for being injured the last few years. 
But you have the go ahead runner in scoring position, you have to come through. No one can blame the Angels for Trout striking out. That’s who anyone would want up in that situation and he fails to come through.
