  1. Could be partly due to his base stealing ability being down this year, For a guy as fast Bourjos he's been caught 6 times & stolen only 5 bases this year. His range factor per 9 innings is down this year too, below the league average for a CFer.
  2. Amen. Bourjos is one of the worst hitting CFers in the league. Bourjos is a -0.3 WAR this season. I believed years ago that Calhoun would become a better player than Bourjos. Calhoun may not yet be a .800 OPS OFer but he's around the .770's & the defense he brings makes him a plus. Bourjos may be a better glove but his bat is bad to the point he makes a lineup worse in more ways than his numbers, he's an easy out & the hitters around him don't benefit from that at all.
  3. I could see him being like GA in his prime: .290/.330/.500 Hack & Slash types are good if they are consistantly a .785 to .850 OPS depending on the season like GA.
  4. He should spend the offseason becoming a Knuckleball pitcher, it could help him prolong his career another 3 to 5 seasons. The good part of him of returning is maybe after he blows every game it will force the team to remove him from the rotation.
  5. This ! Good pitchers get lit up in spring all the time & alot of the bad ones do great in spring.
  6. Yeah I can't believe anyone would pick Weaver at this point. He's not even good enough for the rotation. 82mph fastball & 4.6 strike outs per 9 innings.
  7. Porcello has always kinda sucked, 2014 was his only good season. For a innings eater 4.50 ERA type he's being paid 5x what he's worth.
  8. Well the Astros were never gonna beat the ALCS winner. They look so overmatched like they were a minor league team up against Chicago.
  9. and getting Cabrera for almost nothing. Almost none of the prospects they gave the Marlins worked out for them. Maybin became a glove only/can't hit CFer & Andrew Miller became a good RP after many years failing as a SP with several teams.
  10. Santiago or Heaney. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/LAA/2015.shtml Santiago gets more strike outs & allows fewer walks than Richards. Santiago has allowed nearly 1 less earned run per 9 innings than Richards. His command has gotten better every season. Heaney has the lowest FIP & ERA in the rotation. The fewest Walks per 9 innings, & the highest K/BB ratio in the rotation. 24 years old and a 1.4 BB/9 is awesome. I trust Heaney more than Richards, less experience but his command is like he's been in the majors for many years. If they plan on starting Santiago in game 1 of a 5 game playoff series they should probally use Heaney in the wild card game.
  11. Is Arte Moreno = Al Davis ? "Angels' owner Arte Moreno insisted on the trade, and reportedly told Tony Reagins, the general manager, that he would be fired if he did not acquire Wells within 24 hours" http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/scott-miller/23286878/broken-angels-tense-atmosphere-nearly-included-pujols-hunter-fight-in-2012 Arte & Scioscia need to go.
  12. The only thing Dombrowski would do good for the Angels is sign the stars to long term contracts.....he would never let Trout leave, would overpay to keep him an Angel for life. He wont do Edmonds for Kennedy type trades.
  13. Grichuk reminds me of GA, good slugger but with poor OBP.
  14. After the AJ incident & the series being over, Then the Astro's decided to not even show up to the 2005 World Series, instead the Astros minor league team showed up.
  15. I'll be super happy if he becomes a .750 OPS with great defense in the majors. Such a high premium these days for a 3B to have an OPS higher than .800
  16. Imagine what Arte would do to an NHL franchise lol......they'd be like the Flyers, sign big name FA's, trade players that go on to win cups (like Carter, Richards) & sign one of the worst contracts in history (like Illya Bryzgalov's 9 year deal lol).
  17. Now that they got a real Ace for now in Price, they could go far in the playoffs if they get in. Price can win game 1 for them all by himself & then their offense can carry the rest of their rotation.
  18. Stupid Astros should have beat the 2005 Whitesox in the World Series. They didnt look like they tried.
  19. Trade prosposal in the offseason: Mike Scioscia to Phillies for one rotten month old cheese steak.
  20. It might be considered but then they weigh their options & decide to keep him even while he's in jail, they have his lawyer text on field decisons.
  21. I bet he can throw harder than Weaver.
  22. Above average 2B are hard to come by, him leaving the Angels put that into perspective alot more. Bring him back & they win the Heaney trade even more.
