  1. I didnt think Trumbo would be that bad after being traded. I thought he'd be at least .275/.290/.500
  2. What a trade ! What was Chicago & Arizona thinking ? Mark Trumbo sure is doing fine.....
  3. Coming from a Pitcher who started out with the Moneyball Oakland Athletics is quite an endorsement for Butcher. There are obviously alot things Butcher does right, sure he has his faults but unless their willing to have 2 pitching coaches he does just fine.
  4. Agreed. Look at the Wild, Penguins, Flyers etc they load up on FA's every year and look how thats worked out for them.
  5. Weavers 4.6 K/9 is Joe Saunderish.....actually lower than Saunder's career line of 5.1 K/9
  6. Culturally liberal. In presidential elections the county leans Right because the other option is far worse. CA GOP would be better off if they nominate Caitlyn Jenner as the GOP nominee to run for governor. Caitlyn Jenner is actually a republican. She might actually win by getting enough votes from the Bay area from people who want to vote for a trans candidate.
  7. Finally they turn back into the Washington Generals of MLB. Every league needs a team like Houston Astros that every other team beats up on like a punching bag. Like the Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Lions.
  8. Would have preferred Fehr or Boyes but Stewart is fine as a 1 year rental.
  9. These days I'd say OC is fairly Liberal especially the OC Register, but not like LA. The Register is supposely Libertarian but nothing they say sounds Libertarian lol.
  10. Unless Comrade Bernie Sanders wins the DNC nomination the GOP is gonna fail again trying to win the presidency & they still might fail anyways.
  11. Whats sad is even Jamie Moyer had a higher K/9 in his 40s than Weaver right now & he was throwing 78mph but right on the pixel of the strike zone.
  12. Ducks sign some McGrattan guy who's basicly just a penalty box that throws punches.
  13. He signs with Oakland who don't need pitching but goes on to throw 25 scoreless innings a row for the A's. Its like as soon as some guys put on an A's hat they suddenly remember how to pitch.
  14. Like Scott Kazmir who suddenly figured out how to pitch again with the Oakland As.
  15. Agreed. Their playing way way way way over their heads & talent level. Their supposed to suck at least for another 5 to 10 years.
  16. I remember him and Phil Hughes being hyped up as the next Roger Clemens & Andy Pettite.
  17. What makes Salmon even greater is that he never did roids while other guys were using them obviously. He started to decline like a clean player would but he also had alot of injurys that prevented him from reaching 300HRs & possibly even 400HRs. He only played 150+ games in a season 3 times. Never played 160 to 162 in a season. Take his health & games played into consideration and his numbers look even better
  18. I wish Pujols OBP would at least reach .360 ....like lay off a few bad pitches once in a while. Still only a 33% chance of reaching base.
  19. The Lastro's should have never had the division to begin with. On paper they should have been as bad as the Phillies for the next 20 years. To lose any game to the Lastro's is embarrassing. On Paper the Mariners should be 1000% better than the Astros, the Angels should be 2000% better.
  20. They might as well sign Brad Boyes or Eric Fehr to a 1 year deal. Either would be decent depth on the 3rd & 4th lines.
  21. NHL prospects are not like MLB prospects. Top 10 picks in the NHL draft have like a 95% chance of becoming at least a NHL regular for 3 to 5 seasons. Ones that are good prospects after being drafted, have an even higher chance. Devante Smith-Pelley made his NHL debut after spending 1 more season in CHL & He wasn't as good of a prospect as Ritchie. He'll probally at least get his chance on the 4th line at some point or depending on training camp + injurs he might even make the roster opening night.
  22. Btw is it pretty much figured that Kesler will get the 2nd alternate captain spot ? Only other candidates that I can see is Lindholm, Fowler, Maroon. Giving Kesler the 'A' could help with re-signing him.
  23. I like the idea of Ritchie making the roster. He wont be expected to do much, just to be a depth scorer. I see him starting on the 4th line then probally moving up depending on who's cold & who's hot. (Just read that Fleischmann is a FA). Possible opening season Lineup while Thompson is recovering: Maroon/Getzlaf/Perry - Power Forward line. Hagelin/Kesler/Silfverberg - Speed line 1. Sekac/Rakell/Cogliano - Sped line 2. Wagner/Horcoff/Ritchie - 4th line. When Thompson is back & if Ritchie is playing well. Ritchie/Getzlaf/Perry. Hagelin/Kesler/Silfverberg Sekac/Rakell/Cogliano Maroon/Thompson/Horcoff
