  1. Some people like Trump because its like voting for a Troll & they don't like candidates in either party......so its like a protest vote. Would be funny if Trump & Sanders run as 3rd party fringe candidates. A four way election !
  2. This. This. This. I bet Jackson can't get a hit in Playstation 4's "MLB: The Show 14".
  3. Along the way to the Cup we can joke about the Sharks, they are on the way down to possibly a lottery pick if their goalies don't hold up. Should be Ducks, Flames, Kings, Canucks, Sharks, Oilers, Yotes. I will laugh if the Oilers finish ahead of the Sharks which wouldn't surprise me given the age of Thornton/Marleau & uncertainty of their goalies. All those years they were on top of the Pacific & just choked on it.....the Presidents trophy team that lost to the 8th seed Ducks and then the 3-0 series lead on the Kings & losing the series. Why they still have Thornton is crazy, he's the worst leader.
  4. Yep. The Blackhawks are going to have a Hangover season from winning it all like the last 2 times they did, plus they sold off half their roster. Blackhawks will be back after this season. In todays NHL I would always bet against the team that won the CUP, they never repeat anymore.
  5. Hurricanes are the one team that doesn't know what they are doing or which direction they are headed. They can't even get the #1/#2 pick every year like Edmonton & Buffalo. Their not consistant at finishing with the 1st or 2nd worst record. Every draft year its the guy after Hall/Seguin types for them, like always the #3 to #5 pick instead.
  6. Player Projections anyone ? Yes slightly biased but several guys are in their prime (Getzlaf/Perry/Kesler) & several are on the rise Lindholm/Rakell/Silf/Vatanen. With a healthy Perry, Getzlaf & Perry's numbers should go up. Perry had 33 goals in 67 games so 42 in 82 games next season is realistic. Getzlaf 28G/55A Perry 42G/36A Silfverberg taking a step forward means Kesler probally sees a increase in points even if slightly. Kesler 24G/27A - Silfverberg 20G/30A - Hagelin 21G/20A Rakell 15G/30A - Stewart 15G/20A - Cogliano 18G/18A Santorelli 13G/22A - Maroon 11G/23A - Sekac 12G/12A Lindholm 9G/35A
  7. Another walk yesterday, Interesting that his OBP is much higher than his AVG......thats something Brandon Wood could never do.
  8. They might need Theodore when Vatanen gets pricey.
  9. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=777095 Its not much of a stretch considering Granlund(39 points in 2015) is supposely to be Minnesota's 1st line C despite Koivu having better overall stats. Rakell on Minnesota would likely be ahead of Granlund on their depth chart based on Rakell scoring alot with little ice time & being bigger than Granlund who's undersized at 5'10 Wild are by far the weakest at Center in the NHL.
  10. Rakell would be a 1st line center on the Minnesota Wild. Thats how stacked the Ducks are. Look at his numbers compared to Mikko Koivu, 1 more goal & played in fewer games as well 3rd/4th line minutes. & Mikko Koivu played with Zach Parise last year while Rakell played with Depth guys.
  11. If he can become the everyday 3B in 2016 with a .750-.800 OPS next year, that 2010 draft won't look half bad: Cowart/Calhoun. The Angels have had weak 3B for so many years & their hard to find. Its either solid but light hitting Figgins or a power guy who can't hit anymore like Freese.
  12. They should, their roster is awful except for a few players & their farm system was dead last in the rankings http://www.hockeysfuture.com/team-rankings/spring-team-rankings-2014-15/page/3 There going to be the bad for a long time unless they get their farm system rebuilt & trade off what assets they still have for prospects + picks. NJ having the highest age per player on their team in the NHL doesn't help them either. It could get really ugly for them next season and seasons after that, with such a thin prospect pool they have pretty much nothing ready to step up should any of their key players get hurt & thats where they will look like a ECHL team with weak prospects filling holes.
  13. Glad we didn't get Utley, he can't hit anymore & thats playing half his games in the Philly cheesebox.
  14. Utley now adays.... kinda sucks. I'd rather they sign Kendrick as a FA.
  15. but then watch Shoemaker have a great season for some other team like Kazmir, Colon, etc after he's no longer with the Angels.
  16. Many teams in recent history have fired Managers mid-season and gone on to make the playoffs. Players seem to take responsiblity for managers being fired & step up their game. Scioscia could still inspire his team to play above what their capable of in 2009, after that season not so much anymore. Redsox fired the manager that lead them to 2 WS rings, then won another with their new Manager after a much needed change.
  17. Its never good to keep the same manager around too long. The players need something NEW.
  18. Remember in 2009 when they said Grichuk was an overdraft by about 2-3 rounds ? Good times. Now he's proven why the Angels drafted him in the 1st round. The Angels 2009 draft pwns the 2002 Moneyball draft so much.....its so lopsided. I wonder if Bane is still with the Tigers scouting system. That 2010 draft sucks but Cowart could still turn out to be something good & there is of course Calhoun.
  19. LOL. His career highlight will always be that blindfolded HR in the 2008 WS. Perhaps thats why the Pirates picked him up ? So he can be a PH.
  20. Jays have won 7 straight games. Jays vs Mets WS ? The Jays have now 1 Ace + 2 solid starting pitchers. Reyes has fallen apart in Colorado while Tulo is on fire in Toronto. With their key players at age 29 to 34 they are in win now mode.
  21. PAY THE MAN. When it comes time just pony up the money to re-sign TROUT. For some teams its once in a generation they get a HOFer, for the Angels its even more rare. Angels need their first HOFer. I dont care how much they give him, just that they keep him on the team.
  22. Very true. But when we do get a shootout he will no doubt be the reason they may win most of the shootouts they end up in. With less shootouts I think he will have a higher % in shootouts & also since goalies will be tested less often in shootouts & anticipating a 3 on 3 OT.
  23. Perhaps thats why it took so long, the Ducks are making very low ball offers at their RFAs & end up signing them for what is still a bargain.
  24. Though there has been guys with holes in their swing that have been very effective if they have Grit & power......Napoli for example. As long as he doesn't look like he's scared in the batters box like Wood he should at least make it as a utility 3B/LF/RF
