    HE IS THE WORST BATTER TO FOLLOW Trout.
    Trout can't steal bases.
    If Trout gets on with nobody out in the 8th or 9th inning, you can't bunt him.
    You can't run and hit with him either.
    He's always on a 0-2 or 1-2 hole when Trout is on.

    That would make my year if the A's went out and gave up their top prospects and Cespedes for Shark, Lester and Hammel and they still only won the Wild Card and were eliminated before the Division series.
    I doubt that happens but my goodness would that be a satisfying feeling.
    Anyway, the only way the Angels beat the A's for the division this year is if they defeat them in their remaining head to head battles this year. I think it's possible too. When Oakland traded Cespedes, they lost their biggest scoring threat. Their starters may be better than ours but it's no stretch to believe we'll hit more than they will, and our bullpen s better.
    The A's have a habit of fighting back and winning late in games. Not against our bullpen though. We'll put them away.

    I honestly don't know how anyone can be any more dependable than Joe Smith.
    The guy has been amazing for 2 months now.

    A's acquire Samardzija and Hammel from the Cubs. We're 3.5 games back and might as well concede the division to Oakland.
    Aug 1st and we're 1 game back.

    The 2002 team did have the break of playing in an era where no one had a super rotation.
    However, all this rotation has to do really is to just keep the other team in check for 5-6 innings. This bully currently then compares to any other bully amongst the contenders. And remember that a big factor is that post-season games never are played beyond 2-3 days in a row. More off days = being able to use the bully even more.

    We've gained 1/2 a game on Oakland since the ASB with a slumping offense along with playing a brutal stretch of contenders. All that means is the A's have been slumping even harder than us, and they've had a cupcake schedule since the ASB.

    Toronto just lost. Angels are back up to 6.5 games ahead of them.
     
    Now if Oakland loses, today will have been a great day.
