So this year, our bullpen has featured:
A 30-year-old with 12.1 innings of MLB experience before this year
A 26-year-old with 4 innings of MLB experience
A 28-year-old with 12 innings of MLB experience before this year
A 30-year-old with a career 4.70 ERA
A guy with 27 innings of minor league baseball under his belt
Our best starting pitching prospect, who has been a disaster since being converted to relief
Billy Buckner
David Carpenter
Barry Enright
Mark Lowe
I mean talk about throwing shit at a wall.
Rasmus is a FA after this year? I'm not very well versed in how club control is determined, but I would have thought that a guy with 6.2 innings of major league ball would have multiple years of club control left.
Okay, next time Blanton is on the mound and gets into a jam, someone needs to run onto the field. It might have to happen 7 or 8 times per start, but it might just work.
Iannetta is batting .220 with RISP, Conger is batting .227. Also, Iannetta has 50 at-bats with RISP, while Conger has only 22, so obviously Iannetta will have more RBI's.
I'd rather keep Calhoun. He has more value to us than he does on the trade market. I haven't seen him on any top 100 prospect lists, so I doubt he'd get us anything useful in a trade.
Toronto's bullpen is more than a full run better than ours. In fact their top 3 relievers in terms of innings pitched all have an ERA under 2. Their rotation also has more upside, even though they have been struggling just as much as ours so far.
