    That's certainly the tone that comes across from the post. Why would Arte base his decisions on what a few people on a message board have to say? Fans are fans, there will always be a subset that complains. I seriously doubt someone gets to the top of the business world by being so insecure as to listen to some idiots.

And by everyone I mean no one, because he was projected as a #4 starter at best when he was traded and no one batted any eye about losing Corbin when the trade happened. Can't wait for the threads about how we should have kept Chatwood after he has a good start.

    Fun facts: Blanton has allowed 100 hits this year, the most in baseball. The next worst is Vance Worley, with 82. Blanton has allowed 153 total bases, the most in baseball. The next worst is CC Sabathia, with 130. Blanton has also allowed the most extra-base hits in baseball, with 34. So yes. it is safe to say that Blanton does consistently get hit hard.

    To be fair, Darvish would be walking 6 guys per 9 innings and have an ERA over 4 if he pitched for the Angels.

    It's not like we have any better options or any other guys in the pen that profile as closers. Coello is having a nice run, but it's over a very small sample size. I say stick with Frieri and replace him with the current hot hand in the bullpen if he struggles like he did today.

    Todd Helton hit .372 in 2000. I remember him being around .390 late in the season and then going into a slump at the very end. Edit: he entered September with a .395 average.

    It all makes sense now. Arte signed Hamilton, Pujols, and particularly Blanton to get back at the fans for their whining. Some time around the ASB I expect a poster named "Arte4Life" to show up here and say "See? This is what happens when you ask for big-name signings! This is what you get!"
